Non-MINI Participants? How much flak am I in for?

So, this year will be my wife's second MOTD, and my first. However, we are both drivers and both make wretched backroad passengers so our intention is to take two cars.... her Cooper S and <sigh>
my Hon-duh.
Just to prove I have a sense of humor, I do have graphics made up that say "Mini Support Crew".
So, uh, how much flak am I in for?
On a more serious note, will I be allowed to tag along on group drives, even if I'm at the back of the line?

And batgirlwildcat, I *love* wrenching and driving the wife's car, I'm hoping to go down, learn more about the chassis and drive some great roads.
We put magnetic bonnet stripes on our Suburban mothership tow vehicle last year, and got nothing but smiles. This year, we'll hopefully be driving the new "MINI Clubman MAXIMUS":

F-'em if they can't take a joke, but I doubt anyone will say anything to you - MINI folk are, by and large, pretty friendly.

First sign of the Apocalypse ??
Those Richard heads are everywhere. Don't worry about them. Go & have fun. You will meet lots of good folks. Like ImagoX says, FJ them if they can't take a joke.

There were a large group of Audi people there last year, their group happened to schedule at the same times as ours. There was a lot of play and good natured ribbing, but the truth is we are all there to have fun and enjoy free motoring. If anyone gets too pushy, let them pass on the road, or find a big guy like me on the ground!
Mini is a state of mind, just relax and have fun. (the mini support sticker shows that you have the right frame of mind).

I think it will be ok. We are MINI owners after all. In our local club we have a Ford Focus that tags along on some drives and events. He is my buddy and he got me into MINIs, he has never owned one but he is a MINI owner at heart. He will have a MINI some day but now he is content schooling the rest of us on how to drive, (he is REALLY a great driver!!!)
there have been several non MINIs in attendance in past years. To my knowledge, no-one gave them flak. The non MINIs tried their best to blend in, using MINI badges, bonnet stripes, etc. Besides, when you're not in your car, how can anyone tell that you drive something else?
In my eyes, you'll make the effort to attend, join in, and have fun. That's good enough for this veteran of 5 Dragons.

I've always liked the 'laugh at yourself before others can laugh at you' approach... I'm sure that the MINI support crew vinyl will get you a pass anywhere you want to drive. I'm leading 2 of the day drives and would be happy to have anyone along.

Year two and year three (or was that three and four
) I offered a timed touring rally for the Dragon Run with a Pack Mule class (non-Mini). You just have to like 'em, not drive one.

So, here's what my current plan is - but for you Photoshop gurus feel free to work your magic on this template.
Hey we showed up in a non-mini one year due to problems with our Mini and had a great time.We rented a PT-Cruiser and called it a PT-Cooper and sometimes we called it a Mini-Cruiser, my daugther was so confused after that weekend thatshe sometimes still calls our Mini a PT-Cooper.Hope to see you there in whatever you decide to bring...
Same here. Had to take my full size conversion van when the MINI was in the shop two years ago. Did the counterfeit MINI bit, put a "Prototype MINI Clubman window price sticker on it etc. Got lots of support, laughs, and offers to ride and even a few to drive others cars.
The only thing that I'm aware of that didn't go over is when someone tried to put a japanese counterfeit MINI in the big organized group photo of all the MINI's at the dam. Like many others, I wanted my aprox $100 photo to be ALL MINIs and Minis. I and others did ask the Japansese 'MINI' owners to some stand with us by our cars so they could be in the pic...
P.S. I used some low stick contact / shelf paper to make my temporary graphics. I even spray painted it to get it the same color as other trim and graphics on the truck. Cheap and good enough to last 4-5 days.
