I have my boost gauge installed on the steering column and should have the lighting wires hooked up by the Dragon, but I haven't yet pulled off the intercoloer to access the connection beneath. Anyone out there have experience with this that wouldn't mind offering me moral/mechanical support as I start spinning wrenches? I'dd also love advice on where you ran your hard line for best concealment/protection from melting.

I do, I do! It looks pretty simple in the How-to's, but I'd hate to disconnect something while ON THE DRAGON and not know how to reattach it, you know?

 

I'll throw some extra vacuum hose and some tees in my Tool Bag Of Mayhem just in case.

It's actually very simple, but kinda tucked in a tight spot, hence the need to remove the intercooler.

 

I have like 3 feet of the vacuum tubing that was recommended in the official thread in the Electrical area (probably overkill but you never know).

Should I bring anything special, tools-wise, or is the Bag O' Mayhem all stocked with the required stuff? Looks like simple tools are all that's needed. I'll also come with an assortment of zip-ties... I don't go anywhere without THOSE.

The BoM has all that we'd need, since you did the interior stuff already, it's only the IC that needs to be fiddled with and the attending bits. The zip ties are a necessity to keep things tidy and to protect the hose from straying into moving parts. You're on the ball with this already.

3" of white vacuum line will NOT be enough. The stuff comes in a roll of ? length but it is cheap and plenty. Maybe a couple of dollars.
Taking the IC off is no big deal because I did it and got it back on with NO PARTS LEFT OVER. The vacuum line goes through a small hole drilled in the baffle around the left cowel grill.. ( caution brake lines in there ) then through a rubber plug in the firewall. Biggest problem is although I am not a great big guy it is cramped under the dash as you already know.

 

Really? I thught that all you needed was enough to go from the "T" joint to the fuel pressure regulator (regulator? - something right there)? I can easily get more - it only costs like $.30 a foot if I need more, but do I?

The gauge itself came with sufficient nylon hard line to reach from the gauge through the hole in the firewall and then to the regulator. I currently have the white hard line mounted into the gauge then threaded through the pass-through and just coiled inside the bonnet near my CAI, waiting for the final attachment step. I even have a bit of expandable black sheathing that I plan to use on the hard line to help stealth it a bit better...
