As most of you know, you can click on a Google map and drag it in any direction, which is useful if you want to follow a road and see where it leads without having to alter the magnification.

Look at Killboy's map. Follow 129 up and to the left (i.e., to the northwest). Stop when you get to the area of Santeetlah Lake. Observe the topography, or more particularly the lake and or river.

DO YOU SEE DRAGONS?

That is a handy little map.

Any ideas on how to port a Google Earth landmarks to Google Maps? I have one setup for the area but it's not as convienient as Google Maps.

Umm, did I read that right? There's no ATM at Fontana

ok, here's a quick one with a few MOTD placemarks. Link The main being the intersection where it's confusing which way to get to the parade at Fontana dam from Robbinsville.

Nice, Steve! I don't know of a way to add the placemarks in bulk, unfortunately. I'm sure someone will devise a way eventually, but the tool's pretty new right now.

That is not correct. There is an ATM in the lobby of the Lodge, near the registration area. When I was there in October, several pals made use of the ATM at Fontana to pay for their portion of the cabin.

I would recommend that folks do not count on getting cash and gas easily in Robbinsville and Fontana especially as the weekend progresses. With well over 450 MINIs and Minis plus all kinds of regular traffic, the ATMs could be milked dry by late Saturday.
Plus getting gas might be a bit off a waiting game too, so consider always filling up when you have the opportunity.

Consider also utilizing towns like Vonote and Madisonville especially if you are doing a Cherahola loop or similar anyway.
