Is the Adventure Center the same as the Rec Hall? If so, I wonder where the 300+ dinner & other event attendees will park especially since everyone is not staying at Fontana I mean the cabin roads aren't exactly wide enough to have MINIS parked on both sides of the street all over the place. It's def gonna be a mini traffic jam

Yes, the Adventure Center houses the rec hall. The rec hall is the site of the Welcome Dinner, the Mixer and the Brew Swap. People are just going to have to walk. I don't remember anywhere being that far in the village that would make it a true inconvenience.

Perhaps for those staying in Robbinsville or Tacoma

Admittedly, Tacoma would be very inconvenient. Tapoco on the other hand, not so much an issue. Everyone from Robbinsville and Tapoco will be able to find parking in the Village, it just may be a walk from there to the dinner. Think of the walk there as a pre-dinner calorie burner and the walk back as a post-dinner calorie burner.

This is a very good idea and I am glad that someone took the initiative to do this. It will help the newbie's (like myself) and the veterans know where to go and when to be there! Thanks pamalalala!

You are most welcome MINI Bee

I find it helpful to write up a loose day by day schedule for the entire trip. It clears up any possible conflicting times and shows you when you have free time. I include meals, activities, seeing vendors, driving time, naps etc.. In fact I just got done making ours

Is there a list of drives and/or other activities, too? Seems like there were more last year, like the field trip to the historic house (names escape me) or the Cherohala Skyway drive. Or maybe it'll be more ad-hoc this year. I just hope to not be as sleep-deprived as I was last year...

Do you mean the Biltmore Estate? If you print out the MOTD Welcome Guide, it includes several drives with mapped routes.

Last year I did the Jarrett house and Agranger did the scenic drive. Unfortunately, Agranger isn't coming this year and I've been pretty busy with the welcome dinner.

Looks like it will be a little more ad-hoc this year

Thanks for the RTFM, Clo; I needed that. I wasn't so much referring to routes as organized drives. Ad-hoc is good (better, even, perhaps)! The Jarrett house is the one I was thinking of, Barry. Judging from this list, at least, it seems there were a number of events away from Fontana last year and I was just wondering if I was missing something. Obviously there's still the autocross and ice cream run, of course!

I intend to drive the Cherohala, and I want to invade Killboy's turf and spend some non-driving time on the Dragon taking pictures, too!
