Sunday morning caravan on the Blue Ridge Pkwy

The wife and I will be leaving Fontana Village on Sunday morning the 6th and plan to head up the Blue Ridge Parkway to at least US421.

Anyone else planning to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday morning?

I'm interested, but it's too early to say if I can do it or not. I need to drive back to New Hampshire on Sunday. How long do you think it'd take to go from Fontana to 421? Is this the route you've got in mind?

I'm getting off on 421 to head east to Winston Salem.

It's approx 200 miles from Fontana to 421.

Figuring an average of 45 mph, we're looking at 4 hours.

For those heading further north, they can follow the blue ridge parkway on up to I-77. It's probably another hour to I-77

Definently not the route to take if you need to get somewhere fast, but should be a great drive if you got the time.

I just meant that route completely bypasses the BRP.
