Do you really need a ride? I am a good driver and I chew with my mouth closed.

Herbert, I almost definitely will not be able to make it to a 7pm dinner. If there's a later group, we'll try to make that, but still no guarantees. :-(

Fontana Village has a grill and a restaurant. Robbinsville is the nearest town and its 18 miles one way. There is also a grill at Deals Gap, but it closes early.

Yes, that's not a joke. I'm flying in, not driving Malibu Stacy (can't take that much time off work). I'd like to go with the early group. MetalMiniMayhem was kind enough to offer up his passenger seat.

Anyone else not going to the dinner(s)? Are there any good restaurants that are near Fontana? Anyone game for an alternate get-together or maybe even potluck?

We'd be down for Sweetwater BBQ at 7pm. Now, who is actually going to call them up to let them know?

Sincerity or sarcasm? Can I get a ruling?

I'm confused. I would like to join you all for a Saturday night dinner since I decided to skip the farewell dinner (did signup for welcome dinner though). Are there only plans for Thurs night? Or are there also plans for Sat night?

It would be helpful if someone in charge published the planned schedule - when, where, who, etc...

Thanks,
hogtrader

no one's in charge...if you want to make plans for Sat. night dinner, make them. Invite whomever. Pick a time. There, your plans are made.

Someone may not be in charge but someone does need to check with Sweetwater. Otherwise this thread is just a waste of time and space.

It sounds like Clo is willing to give them a general heads up.

Yes, the chef/owner of Sweetwater is my pal and I will definitely tell him about the impending MINI invasion!

I think we all just started brainstorming for dinner Thursday. As soon as plans are definate, I am sure they will be posted here in this thread.

We just haven't gotten around to Saturday. If you have any ideas, let us know!

I just started this thread to see who else didn't have plans since my group is going to one or both of the dinners. I figured I could meet some other Mini people rather than sit alone in my cabin eating crackers.

**** I don't mind calling Sweetwater with a head count on Monday for the 7pm group and give them follow up on MINIclo's invasion warning. Anyone that wants to join us after the call is made on Monday can call Sweetwater's themselves.

If there ends up being a later group, they can handle things for their own group. I was going to check the thread after the weekend and see how many people we are up to.

If you guys don't mind....those who would like to go at 7pm Thursday to Sweetwater's, PM me with your headcount.

dude, i'm thinking that you will meet many MINI people to hang out with at Fontana and the surrounding resorts
and the only way you will end up eating crackers alone in your cabin, is if that's what you truly want to do
