I was once a "Mechanical Artist". Now that's a conversation I wouldn't want to miss (On a mac since 1990). I miss the smell of bestine, but visiting the printer's satisfies a "blanket wash" fix. I'll have to think long and hard about Thursday (the gig is kinda optional....)

it is optional, and its basically a chance to all meet so whether you hang out or not, you should poke your head in and say hi.

Nope...so, I'll say a few.

Started my computer/graphics experience with Corel Draw vs 2...need i say more?

Just couldn't afford a Mac at the time. I never got into flat out word processing...only graphics software and a little PageMaker.

The first PC I had was borrowed from a friend (maybe not a friend) who had installed a pirated and flawed vs of PageMaker. It let me down to the point I was ripping through the trash and doing paste ups again from what I had thrown away to get a job out the door. BRUTAL!

So glad those days are over.
I love embroidery...

Yes, I remember the early vers. of Pagemaker too. Total PITA. Love Macs also, but make my living on PCs. I fix 'em.

I bought the very first Mac sold in Pittsburgh, Feb 2, 1984. I've had literally hundreds since.

You should find your local mac store, buy a mac and take their free classes on how to use it. They are much easier than pc's to use and they come standard with ilife which is a lot of fun to play with. If I had one of their ibooks i'd show you but my iMac weighs a good atleast 50 lbs...but takes up like no space...marvelous.

You both are the sort who save the world!

Bet you've see stress melt off your customer's face as you walked through the door to fix their PC.

Oh, PC God/Men...how we love you.
I know how i am when I have a puter problem...simply beside myself!
Though my techie here has bailed me out plenty I'm still good at hands on workarounds with the graphics!

You know what I mean LouisPup

Thanks Checkmate...you're a sweetie!

Don't think there is a Mac store in Rome, GA...But I do have an imac...and an imac for dummys...guess i'm not a dummy cause when I read it I don't understand it. I think the problem is that I'm not getting what I know about a PC out of my mind enough to learn how a mac runs and where stuff is when i save it.

Ugh!

that's usually because you over think it...you have to do more to get what you want on a pc...and it throws you off when you are trying to do more than you have to to get it to work. pluss you can always e-mail or IM me if you have any questions about anything.

Jeremy don't forget the time you were saying you'll never switch and then I believe your very next comment was..."hang on, gotta reboot"...

Google video this phrase "why mac suck" and the guy in front of a white background will throughly explain my position on macs, many of the things he talks about I have experianced and justifies why I avoid them at all costs.

Disclaimer language in the video, why I did not post a direct link,

oh god, here we go

the PC is what allows me to have a job; something is always wrong with them and they have to be maintaned on a constant basis.

i've had my G5 for about 10 months now and i think it will be very hard for me to go back to a PC for personal use at home (wished i had a mac for the workplace). I dont mind working with a PC, thats all i've used since i remember computers getting big. got the mac last summer and i've been happy with it ever since

if any of you have the time, do a little search on the net & find out how Bill Gates got his start and how Microsoft became what it is today. you'll be shocked

ya ya he got hte stuff before jobs but there essentaly the same thing, I've just had about 6-60X the isssues using macs than PC and never had what I'd describe as a "good" experance with any of the Mac/Apple systems I've used (Aside from throwing Apple 2GS into dumpsters about 3 years ago). Main reason for me avoiding the iPod aside from the fact all of their products are overpriced IMO.
