I really wasn't trying to undermine the plan. I'm just planning on doing it relaxed this year.. putzing around, seeing the sights, and putting a ton of miles on my new MCS. If "beverages" are your thing, there will be Woodchuck & Strongbow with your name on it as a thanks.

I'm curious too how many didn't register yet made sure to say they were with the MOTD group to get a discount on their room. That is only one of many benefits. For others like me, as I mentioned in another thread, this gives me the chance to meet up and have work done by those who own MINI performance shops. I'm in an area where the nearest MINI performance shop is at least 600 miles away so this event is a great plus. Not to forget the other vendors as well. Originally Posted by Edge

It's definitely worth the price of admission. Especially when that price is already saved with the discounts available on the rooms.

It has been mentioned more than once that the $5 fee is NOT the reason that some choose not to register. I've been around the Dragon long enough to understand and respect the choices of those individuals who are not registering.
To encourage continued registrations in a positive manner is a great thing.

as well al extra tee's and stuff. My folks did not register as they will be out 4-wheeling and not doing the Mini thing. They are just tagging along with me to keep me going up there by myself. So, that said, if you see an older couple (60's) driving a truck and pulling 2 "Artic Cat" 4-wheelers, they are with me, Say Hi

Then think about what that Parade up the Dragon will be like, or could be like. In other words how many MINIs we got and how many would be coming and how many going...

Now, the actual length of the Dragon from Tabcat Bridge to Highway 28 (i.e. Crossroads of Time) is 11.8 miles (source - tailofthedragon.com)

If we multiply 63360 inches by 11.8 (miles), we come to 747648 inches. Divide by the 143.5 inch average... the answer is... 5210.09059 MINIs! Since you can't have a partial MINI (well, you can, but it's a terrible thought!), the final answer is:
5,210 MINIs can fit on the Dragon, bumper to bumper (actually touching).
Impressive, huh? Now, if we assume a safe following distance of at least 4 MINIs... that would mean we'd divide by 4... which still means 1,302 MINIs could all fit on the Dragon at the SAME time in a line, with the space of 3 MINIs in-between each one.
In case a 4 MINI distance isn't considered by some to be a large enough following distance, here are some more quick calcs:
5 MINI distance = 1,042 MINIs
6 MINI distance = 868 MINIs
