I want to join the 1030 launch please! One PW/PW MCS with 2 people!

My father in law will also be with us but in a Scion TC, is it ok if he tags along at the rear of the bunch? Would he have to be included in the count?

All three having lunch.

I'm going to count your father... he's more than welcome anywhere in the line. He may not have a MINI, but who can fault a man who raises his son to choose the best color MINI... PEPPER WHITE!!!!

AVAILABILITY:
1 spot open at 10:30
1 spot open at 11

Yeah, my brother, Tom, with 2 for lunch. I'll call him now and tell him to confirm with you. He just found out he can go today! Talk about short notice.

ALL OF THE PRE-EVENT REGISTRATION SLOTS ARE FULL! THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK... 5 SPOTS WILL OPEN UP IN EACH OF THE LAUNCH GROUPS ON THURSDAY EVENING WHEN I REACH FONTANA AND CAN POST THE SIGN-UP SHEETS. FOR THOSE SPONTANEOUS PEOPLE OUT THERE, YOU CAN SIGN UP NEAR THE DAY-DRIVE WHITEBOARD IN THE REC CENTER, FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.

Hey guys, looks like we won't be able to make 11:00am drive, we have too many other things we had committed to this go round. Aaron, I am still planning on being at the dam for the pic at 9:30am. Hopefully someone else can take our slot on the drive.

As far as I know, everyone made it back safe and sound from the drive. The drive down Little River Road was fantastic.

I'll post pictures of the 'Mud Wagon' and maybe even a video of those kind folks pushing me out in a few days.

Thanks to Rowdy and .Bob for all of their help! Thanks also to the muddy-shoed motorists who freed Jango!

Thanx to everybody in the 1030 group who helped me out pushing my MCS UP the smokey mountain highway when i couldn't get into gear. Greatly appreciated to see 8-10 people running down towards us. Can't wait to see some of the photo's of that since i saw a few shooting as we all pushed hehe.

The classic part was hearing "We've got a man DOWN!" over the radio as we opened the doors and started pushing heheheh. Limping the car to South Carolina was interesting but we did making it to our families house. The car is now awaiting a tow to Century MINI in Greenville, SC.

I'll be posting more and more details about the situation as i can over in the "Reporting LIVE from the Dragon" thread.

i'm glad you got your car back to safety. i was right behind rowdy so by time i saw you pushing i didn't have time to react, that's when everyone came rushing down. glad you got it back home and hope it's under warranty!

Thanx, its not home yet. Still in South Carolina, got to make it back to Miami hehe. If a miracle comes through they can fix it by sometime in the afternoon so i don't have to rent a car and drive down to Miami and come pick it up later....

Sorry you got stuck, Aaron, but you did a fantastic job of planning the Smokey Mountain Scenic Drive, and your car still looks classy.....even in the mud. It was great to finally get to meet you as well.

I'm not going to live that one down for a while...

I pulled over to let a far back group catch up and to let the photographer get ahead of us for a good picture opportunity. When I hit the shady spot, I discovered that the ground was still very wet and the back end of the car slid a foot or so down the slope and dug in.

I went to the wash facility when I got back and the INSIDE of the wheels were caked with mud! My wheel wells were also covered with mud.

My video camera was mounted to the inside of the back glass, filming backwards, when the off-roading happened. I've got some great close-up shots of everyone pushing Jango out!

Thanks

We had a blast on the scenic drive throught the Smoky Mtns. It was nice to meet and chat with so many cool people from the 10:30 group. Thanks to agranger for the event and thanks to our fearless leader Rowdy. Hope to see you all again in 2007.

Here are a couple of pics I took of our group during our tour. I have so many more, but these are just a few I tried to play some with in Picasa2.

I believe these cars are from the 11:00 group.

Nothing spectacular about this pic except the mountains and sky. Its like its was painted for us this day.

Just trying to learn how to play with photos.

If people are wondering about the split-rail fence, Rowdy's 10:30 group did a side trip to Clingman's Dome, the tallest point in the Smokys.
