MITM3 Dinner(s) Thread - All the facts are here!

When you register this year for MITM3 (www.MINIsintheMountains.com) you will find basic information regarding this year's dinners. This thread is dedicated to those of you who want further information and more details. We will post basics now, and as soon as registration is open (watch, any moment now) then all details will emerge. Here we go:

Wednesday, August 6th

The only formal activity this year is our 'Tent City Setup Party'. Beginning at 5 pm, we will use our crack volunteer staff to set up a few dozen of our popup tents, our big white double, and our Check-in / Host tents. Come join us if you are in town. BYO ice cold beverage. After about only an hour of work, we expect to just be sitting around enjoying the cool evening air. There is no dinner activity scheduled, but restaurants and bars at CMR Copper Mountain Resort will be open.

Thursday, August 7th

Dinner on Thursday is OYO and is planned to be 'on your own' time. After a long days drive to get here, many of you will just want to chill. Again, enjoy the CMR restaurants and bars. But we recommend a tradition that started last year: Dinner in Frisco on Main St. We call it CAYA 'Come As You Are' so please join us at one of the following locales: The Island Grille (in the Frisco Marina, just at the end of Main St.) and the Backcountry Brewery and Restaurant. There are others. For the EARLY crowd, come down to the Island Grille. Manager 'Crazy DellRita' has invited us all down whenever you arrive. For the LATE crowd, the BackCountry stays open til well into the night. Make your pick, just join us in Frisco. The Island Grille is just about 500 yds past the BackCountry, right in the Marina. Drive right in, go all the way back towards the boat launch and the lighthouse. You have arrived.

Friday, August 8th - Sponsored by ALTA!

Group dinner on Friday is located off-site, at Winter Park Resort, which is 65 miles from Copper via I-70. Winter Park is also 93 miles from Copper via Kremmling and Granby. We will be outdoors, under the stars (tent) eating picnic-style right at the base of the slopes. Easy parking in the new parking structure, you will truly enjoy this dining experience. Dinner is 6-8 pm, buffet style, and you can come any time during this period and be served. There will not be seatings - - rather, come when you like and meet someone new! Just take US-40 East of town a bit, then turn on Winter Park Road. Drive down to the large, new parking structure, park, and then walk into the main resort area. You are there.

***PLEASE NOTE*** Our big Friday ride is to RMNP Rocky Mountain National Park. We encourage all of our intrepid MINIs to head that way. Winter Park is on the way BACK from RMNP and therefore easy to get to. Also note that for those of you heading up Mt. Evans on Friday night, this first route to / from Winter Park drops you right on I-70, just west of where you need to be to head up Mt. Evans. PLEASE CHOOSE THE FRIDAY DINNER OPTION WHEN YOU REGISTER. NO DINNER TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR. A DRIVER'S SEAT OR PASSENGER'S SEAT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PURCHASE A DINNER TICKET.

Saturday, August 9th - Hosted by Ralph Schomp MINI!

Group dinner Saturday is right in CMR Copper Mountain Resort. This year, dinner will be at the most scenic spot in the resort, the beautiful Grand Hall. Located in the east end of CMR, the Grand Hall directly overlooks the golf course and the slopes. Cocktails will be outdoors, dinner will be indoors, and the group picture (yes, with your cars) will be right below. All of you will be asked to drive your MINIs right up to the door and next to the building for this year's group pic overlooking the golf course and the mountain. Dinner is buffet style and will precede this year's presentations, awards and drawings. As before, the excellent CMR staff will serve our group in a casual setting.....Cocktails at 6, dinner from 7 to 9. Then off to Mt. Evans, 14,246 ft high, at midnight, nekkid.....PLEASE CHOOSE THE SATURDAY DINNER OPTION WHEN YOU REGISTER. NO DINNER TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. A DRIVER'S SEAT OR PASSENGER SEAT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A DINNER TICKET.

Questions? Please post. Many of them will be answered at your registration page, but we are happy to address them here.

Thanks,

Jonathan

When our site opens for registration

tomorrow, you will get the Group Code for our event. Just call CMR to book your lodging and use our code. In the meantime, if you wish to RSVP for lodging, you can already call Copper (many have) and just tell them you are with MINIs in the Mountains. They will give you the code.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Please see the edits to Post #1

for Thursday night. After a long discussion with DellRita (the manager of the Island Grille) we have decided to have both the Island and the Backcountry host your Thursday dinner.

CAYA, CWYW. Thursday to Frisco. Both at the corner of Hwy 9 and Main St. in Frisco.
