Talking MA just got me my 2012 Order Guide

Just got an email from my MA with the 2012 order guide. Most items from 2011 are still there and I'm continuing to go through it, but one change is the addition of the 'Technology Package' that includes the center armrest, Park Distance Control, HK Sound System and Connected or Connected w/Nav.

The guide does have a SOP date of 7/11 and I'm interpreting that as a "Start of Production" date in Jul 11.

The other changes I saw were the expected 3 rear seats option, but this has a SOP date of 11/11, so that may not be in production until Nov this year. Also, there's one last change I see is an option for black headlight housings with a SOP of 9/11. I don't remember if this was already an option for 2011.

Aside from that, no major changes. Now to comb through it and figure out what to do since I don't know if I want to wait until November for a 3 seat option if that's really what it means!!!

All others in the same boat, 2012s are getting closer. I don't have pricing information at this point.

Premium package was changed to include alarm system, comfort access, chrome line interior, auto dim rearview, rain sensor/auto headlight and auto A/C. No HK in this package...

Indeed it is! It does not appear that any color changes were made.

The premium package was already $1750 before. I can't imagine what the price tag will be for that package now!!

Thanks for the update! Anxious to see if there's anything else.

can you post a link/pdf of this order guide ? I just cancelled a 2011 order and ordered a 2012 instead. But my MA did not offer any guides or updates.

Exciting news, thanks for the info!

I wonder what the reason for SOP 11/11 would be for the rear bench since it's an option for the 2011's, just not for the U.S.

I'm also planning on getting a 2012 asap and would be VERY interested in seeing what you've got.

looks like they are pushing the park distance and alarm system on the '12 models. I would order most of the options in the new technology and premium package with the exception of the PD and alarm. I would not be seeing any discount (i'm going to assume the discounts would be $500 for each of the new packages like the '11 model) but insted would get two expensive option ($500 each at '11 pricing) for free; both I really do not want or think I need. For me that makes the price of an '12 model $1,000 more then the '11. I think they are already pricey for what you get, now even more so. Also what happen with the Sun roof and garage door opener? are they no longer included in any package?

Black headlamp housing sounds tempting!

No dual sunroof with the premium package? Was part of the package before, right?

You're right! I remember my MA stating that some of the grouping would be to move some of the less requested items into packages to sell more of the less popular items. Looks like the sunroof does fine on its own outside the package leaving room for profit on less popular stuff. Bummer.

Now I just to get pricing info!!!! If you guys happen to get something, please share!

I wouldn't get an alarm but PD is a MUST HAVE with the Connected screen. It's really, really useful.

NP!!!

I've been so anxious to get the process moving that even trivial things like this are met with disproportionate excitement!!!

Based on howcthe packages are now grouped, I'm not sure I'll be getting the same ones that I was eyeing on the 2011. Planning on putting in the order today!

Here's a comment on the park distance feature. I have noticed that while backing into a parking place where there is an obstruction, I find it difficult to judge the distance I am away from the instruction. Everything looks closer than they really are. I don't have the PD control, but wish I did.

Thanks for the info. Is there any reason as to why the base model was omitted from the sheets. How are these changes going to affect the MSRP?

I'm getting an ALL4, so my MA only sent me the pages you see in the attachment. I'm sure the others exist, but he didn't send those to me. If my MA's got them, I've got to believe that this info is now out for the masses of dealers out there.

But then again my MA is pretty cool, so maybe not!

Not sure if I'm reading it right but looks like no more 17" black 5 star double spokes.

OK - it looks like the 4UK rear bench option is listed as 11/11 for SOP - meaning a wait until November for the rear bench ?

The only option I would have really liked is the Black Headlight Housings.
I figured they would be part of a JCW package at some point.
Someone already did this mod on a 2011 CM-S, but it looked complicated.
