Interior/Exterior 25-27 May 2010 Swift Motorsports, Norwich, CT - A Lesson in Aerodynamics and More
A Lesson in Aerodynamics
So I have been diligently researching MINI aerodynamics and have discovered that the MINI is anything but aerodynamic. Our MINIs are so not aerodynamic that we share the same drag coefficient as a 2004 Dodge Durango.
One thing my research did glean was a newly emerging group called Group 4 Autosport. These folks were a vendor at MINIS on the Dragon (MOTD 2010) and installed several front splitters and rear diffusers while there.
They will be in southeast Connecticut from 25-27 May 2010. They’re installing a new front splitter and rear diffuser on my MINI during this time. I have arranged for them to be at Swift Motorsports for the afternoon of the 25th and again on the 26th and 27th of May.
They will have three MINIs available that have some different variations of aerodynamic goods. The MINI are and R53 S, and R55 Clubman S and a R56 S. Do not despair though; they also manufacture an array of goods for the Cooper Lites.
One of these guys is also the owner of www.minifini.com. MINI-FINI designs and assortment of interior MINI accessories along with external MINI accessories like bike racks, ski/snowboard carriers, tow links, and sport links.
The MINI-FINI representative will also have a tear-drop trailer available for everyone to see. He tows it behind his Clubman and has logged hundreds of mile with it.
So if you’re available, please come by and check out some of the cool new MINI goods.

Group 4 Autosport is working hard to get their website online. It should be up by the end of the month. When it's online the address will be www.group4autosport.com .
Group 4 Autosport makes a fully functioning and track tested rear diffuser. They do not make a wind tunnel. Here is a teaser pic.

I saw their stuff at MOTD and I was so excited I peed a lil(nah j/k). Their products look nice. I would like to see the wind tunnel results though because I am going to save up and get some of their stuff.

Thanks for posting.
They make them for the R53 and the R55 also. They also have goods for the Cooper Lites.
Group 4 Autosport down force generators are mathematically engineered and track tested with data logging. It's a pretty amazing drive on the street!!! I can't wait to get it on the track.
Here's the front end splitter from Group 4 Autosport:

Here is the rear difusser from Group 4 Autosport:

Looks really nice. Been wanting to see pics of their products on the r56 but the other site had mostly pics of r53 installs. Also nice to see the products made for the standard front and rear bumpers instead of only for the JCW aerokit. Gonna have to pic these up when they come out. On the rear diffuser, any cutting or dremelling done to get it to fit properly?
Scott,
Your car looks amazing! Well done getting G4M to your "ruse" of a tuning day.
Let me know if you're coming up to NHIS to get this bad boy on the track. I'll stop in if I can!
