Hi all. Years ago I had a chili red r56, funnest car I ever owned. Sold it, raised the kids, now heartbroken to part with my still beautiful 2002 E46 but I’m old now and need more airbags and technology. I’m looking at a 2020 Countryman S with 45,000 miles, all black, I love the pictures, can’t wait to drive it. I have questions.

-do the washer fluid spray streams still come out in a single stream or does it fan yet? haha I’m still traumatized by those things

-what exactly is Mini Connected and is Navigation part of it (with subscription)?

-is Car Play part of the standard communication install or is it not included in this year model or does it depend on the trim package? I don’t care too much for the hardness of the more square bodies as the years go on but I want Car Play, so this one’s kind of the deal breaker on the year I get.

-also the one I’m test driving has a JCW steering wheel, is that indicative of the package or maybe just an aftermarket install?

-last, what is the audio theft deterrent? Is that a recorded voice screaming to step away from the vehicle or is it an actual “alarm”? There’s no panic button on the keys so not sure 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don't know the LCI models very well, only my pre-LCI 2017.

1. My washers fan, yes.
2. I believe Connected is a subscription for internet connectivity for certain things, for ex it can let you update your nav maps if you have nav. That is dependent on packages tho.
3. IIRC as of 2020 Car Play is standard?
4. A JCW could mean one or more JCW packages are part of the car. There are trim-only options in addition to the tuning package.
5. I'm guessing its the alarm. I thought that was standard as of 2020, whereas previous models you had to add a package, but maybe I'm misunderstanding this one.
