F60 Typical failures now many have significan miles
Typical failures now many have significan miles
Hi,
I read through the posts here and seems the only common issues are:
1. Transfer case leak. One at 30k replaced under warrany, and another a friend I know 150k
2. Water in the boot, just two people
3. Engine pulsing at 80F fixed with software, one
4. HUD two people
5. To motor mount
6. Car in limp mode presumed gforce sensor as happened turning right.
7. Powertrain flex disk, one person.
I probably missed some, but in summary hardly anything seems to break. The F56 B48 can have harmonic balancer at maybe 70k, oil filter cartridge housing oil leak at 100k (earlier for early builds apparently) that are not mentioned here. A few leaking injectors. And top motor mount.
Are there other things that are issues? I am considering moving from a F56 cooper to e 2021+ used Countryman. Seems to be about equal reliability.
Thanks for your time and consideration

Our 17' is 7 yrs old, just hit 100K and the only thing that has needed replacing was the pass side motor mount, extended warranty took care of it. Just recently the roof sunshade needed replacing but that's because the wife broke it, so I don't really count that. Plus only one complete brake job (front /rear), normal wear and tear, and oil changes every 8-10K, we love this little CM!
Thank you both! I'll be trading my 23 White Silver Hardtop Cooper (not S) Signature 2.0 DCT 15,500 miles for a 23 Melting Silver Countryman 8 speed Signature 2.0 trim with 6300 miles. Has nav too. I think I lose heated steering wheel. Basically a $10k difference.
Some of these thing carry over on the engine side: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...periences.html

Thanks! I had read that thread before, and learned a lot from it. Especially the detailed pictures of the actuey failure of th egasket etc. Kinda weird, not many Countryman (NAM, MINIF56.COM, Facebook pages) seem to report these issues. I wondered if it is because there are fewer Countryman than F56: F56 from 2014-2024, but Countryman onlfy from 2017-2024. Or maybe CM owners are less likey to post failures on these places. Same motor, seems there should be the same failures.
