trailer hitch availability

Is it true, that there's no OE (European, UK, or otherwise) trailer hitch option for the F60? I saw a YouTube video of a company in the UK that sells OE-like hitches that are commonly found on many European/UK vehicles as factory options, but I'd prefer an OE solution if one exists (including OE coding to enable trailer wiring, if it's possible). I remember I was able to code my F57 to show a trailer hitch view on the backup camera.

Curt Manufacturing has a 1 1/4" hitch for the F60. Curt makes just about all OE hitches. They also have an active recall for the OE hitches due to a structural defect, IIRC.

Stumbled upon this video directly from MINI, and clearly MINI offers an OE hitch and wiring connector. See 0:20-on in the video:

After doing some digging on realoem.com, the option code for the towing package appears to be S235A. Not finding any part #'s, however, at least not yet. I'm hoping to find someone in the UK or Europe who can assist with researching the part #'s. I'm still preferring an OE solution because it will likely have the best integration (e.g., probably disables the rear parking sensors when a trailer is connected; might also adjust stability control to account for a trailer; could have other electronic changes to the car while actively towing). Otherwise, Stealth Hitches seem to be the best visual integration for an aftermarket hitch. Hmmm....

Feeling particularly motivated, I decided to try something simple: check out the MINI UK website to see if there's a retrofit kit available as an accessory. Sure enough, found this: https://shop.mini.co.uk/products/166...able-ball-head

Further digging, I found this: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=71_0948

So it seems there's a whole kit for a retrofit trailer hitch.

@ECSTuning can you assist in figuring this out?

Thumbs up Option: Stealth Hitch

I had this installed on my 2017 Countryman S All4 and haven't looked back. It's a bit on the expensive side but having the hitch hidden when not in use is a plus for me.

Hello, just came across this, curt is what we offer. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-curt-trailers-parts/v-mini/ Some bike only bumper kits they have for other models

F60 curt: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-curt-tra...tch/11522~crt/

MINI seems to not allow some of the euro hitches here in the USA. From what i heard its crash safety standards.

Lots of talk of hitches lately. I'm about to order the Ecohitch and get U-Haul to install it on my 2018 hybrid, as both U-Haul and the manufacturer claim that it fits. Will post up results!

Thank you....I've been wondering why the UHaul option hasn't been mentioned. The install cost is quite high for the mini, but I'm curious how it ends up.

People are getting ready to travel in the USA and need the extra space.

Let us know how it goes.

Put a Curt C11522 hitch on today. It snugs up just below the bumper and is just barely visible. Now for the wiring harness.
