2022 JCW Front Power Outlet Always On?

We have had our 2022 JCW Countryman for a week now and took a 1200 mile trip during that time. I installed a dash cam and plugged it into the front Power outlet. What I discovered is, that front outlet (the cig lighter port under the center dash controls like AC) seems to be powered all the time, even when the ignition is turned off. I need to do more testing to ensure that it isn't turning off after a delay and back on when the door is opened or unlocked.

My question is, does anyone know if it is possible to change this behavior so it shuts off when the car is turned off? The dash cams rely on the outlet power shutting off to turn themselves off. Without this, they remain on and drain the battery. Having to manually turn it off or pull the plug every time you exit the car, and remembering to turn it back on when you get in, is a bad option.

I looked in Bimmercode but didn't see anything that looked like it would change this, although I have never entered 'expert mode' as I don't want to mess something up.

Any ideas?

The front outlet should turn off when the electrical system "goes to sleep" after a short time. The outlet should become live when one of the doors is opened, and/or the vehicle is unlocked with the FOB or Comfort Access Button.

I wired my Dash Cam directly into the fuse panel below the glove compartment, using one of these:

Don't think this is the case anymore with the 2021+s. I installed an LED bar under the JCW red stripe in the grill and initially powered it from a 12V adaptor plugged into the dash port. It never went off, even after a couple hours. I tried locking the car and leaving it unlocked. That port always seemed to have power. I ended up hardwiring to one of the ignition switched fuse spaces in the box and now the bar turns off shortly after the engine does.

Yes. The cigarette 12v never turn off! I am also surprised when I got my 2022 JCW F60 3 weeks ago. I tested and found the USB ports do auto cut off the electricity after 5 minutes. Buy a long usb cable to replace the dash cam cable can do!
