Farewell

It's official - she's sold and I've placed an order for a 2021 Volvo XC90
As some of you may know - we have twins coming and already having a 3 year old - so needed something with a 3rd row.
A buyer found our CM on Autotrader and flew in from out of state this weekend to purchase it and ship it back. Apparently these are very hard to find in a manual transmission.
We got our full asking price and the transaction went very smoothly.

Even with the quirks we will miss the Mini. It's a perfect size compact SUV with a nice mix of fun, practicality, luxury and tech. It ran great in the snow and was quite dynamic in the dry... I just wish it had a bit more pep.
Thanks everyone for the participation in this forum while I was active... I'll post some pics of the new ride when we get it!

Off to a new home:

Congratulations on the twins. Family first. There will be a time when a MINI can be in the garage again.

We will miss your contributions here! Farewell and good luck with the XC90. That's a big step up in size and a car we cross-shopped when we bought our Audi Q7. Great choice!

We had a '17 XC90, served us well with 3 kids. Make sure you get the Polestar tune.

Thanks all!
Yes we got the Polestar Upgrade... They actually threw it in for free... We also got the Climate Package which adds heated steering wheel, heated 2nd row seats etc... The Advanced Package which adds HUD and interior upgraded lighting package... and the Harman Kardon sound system... blond interior....
It's quite a bit bigger than the CM - which we obviously needed - did the 6 seater vs 7 though for easier access to 3rd row. I think we'll still get a roof box for it - the Volvo one is actually very nice and sleek.
I just got snow tires/wheels for it (just in time - we're expecting 11 inches of snow today)... Tinted front windows, stone guard, weather techs... so ready for the winter...
Unfortunately there is very limited aftermarket stuff for this thing - which may be a good thing actually LOL...
Here are some pics... it's a very comfortable machine!

Thank you for not cheaping out getting steelies for your winter tires. Oh, and Nokian Hakkapeliitta. I approve! :-)

Haha - I don't think I've ever gotten steelies for winters... the pic of the CM above is with snow tires. In fact I preferred the wheels for the snow tires over the stock JCW wheels.
But - if I couldn't afford nice rims I'd have no problem with steelies tho... snow tires on steelies are better than no snow tires at all.

Oh, for sure. Winter tires for winter, starting when the seasonal daytime highs are trending to be less than 7 deg C. I don't even wait for snow in the forecast. Aftermarket alloys are so inexpensive nowadays that it's hard to justify steelies. I've been rolling on winter tires before they were even in fashion LOL. I've had lots of steelies over the years but not for the last 5 years or so. Current stable is a Q7, a TT, and a MINI Countryman. All on alloys with a painted finish.
