Hi all, just came back from a test drive of the 2018 JCW. Fell inlove instantly. Want one badly

One of my favorite parts was the exhaust sound in the sport mode

So I found a new 2020 JCW but its in another state. I know it has a totally different motor, and with all the new EU sound laws, I'm a little worried the 2020+ are going to be muffled in sound. Thats the only thing keeping me from getting the car, as theres no way for me to go see/hear the car before I buy it (Covid and all...)

Can anyone comment if there is any significant difference in sound and rumble between the 2020 and 2018 JCW?

 

I'm no expert, but, I think the 2018 has the 228 HP variant of the same BMW 2.0 Engine that the 2020 has, but, the 2020 JCW has 301 HP. Hopefully someone will chime in that can answer your question directly...
