Does anybody know the moonroof initialization process? Mine was stuck in the tilted position so I dropped it off at the dealer to fix. They texted and stated they just re-initialized it.

I was googling last night on initialization processes and found some instructions for older MIINIs and for current BMWs. None of them worked for me...

I tried:
1) Holding the switch for 30 seconds (Tried both directions)
2) Holding the switch for 30 seconds in one direction, then switching to the other direction for another 30 seconds
3) I tried both methods above with the car completely on (engine running) and just on (no engine running)

If I'm reading this correctly:
"Operate and hold down the switch in the first of the two possible positions towards "Close"

Then I may have messed up. I pushed the switch all the way to the end (two clicks). I'll try this method if my roof gets stuck again.

I'm guessing some day that this goes away as a freebie. I started to download and save info for my car and finally gave up and lost interest in doing so. Figured by the time I finished I'd probably have a different car.

 

Happened again. Moonroof won't close and is stuck in the tilt position. I tried the initialization process outlined in the link above, but no luck.

Anybody figure out how to do this? If not I guess I'll have to take it all the way back to the dealer on Monday. :(
