Mini won't move

Hi folks, i have a problem with my Mini S, All4, R60 N18B16. Its not moving at all. When i press brake and change gear the display show what gear i select but car wont move. I read the error codes with ISTA, but in EGS module there is no errors. When put car in Drive, the driveshafts is not spining at all. I atach some live data. Any help? I bought car with this problem, so i dont know the history of the car.

For what it's worth, when I have the transmission in Park, my "Performance Variables" show an Engine Torque of 2.35% and Turbine Speed of 630 rpm. You show zero for both these values. My R60 is FWD, not AWD, but I wouldn't expect that to make a difference.

Exactly i was expecting to see torque rpm closer to engine rpm, so i think that i need to dissasemble the gearbox and search for any damage. Is it possible the oil pump of the transmission to be the main problem?

I have not read up on the transmission internals to know if a failed oil pump would result in no / limited "Turbine Speed". If there is no oil to sling against the turbine, seems logical.
Do you have the GA6F21WA service documentation from minitechinfo.com? If not, it would be worth the daily access fee to download and read.

Do any of the seals show signs of fluid leaking ?
Have you only tried this on cold idle or have you let it idle for 30 plus mins?
I would drain measure and inspect fluid and then refill to eliminate at least that variable
From experience when CVT is over a quart low it will not move, if it is just a little low it will not move until warm

I am no means a tans mission expert However If not a fluid issue I would investigate torque converter or front pump

Its not cvt, its GA6F21WA, as known as 09g in vag cars. No sign of leaks, i check oil level when the trans oil reach 35 degree, its ok. I'm gonna dissasemble the gearbox and the first think to check is oil pump. When i test the car was on a jack stand with wheels removed i wonder does the fact that the car is not on wheels will take any efect not to spin axels.

Well, everythink is clear now. The oil pump is gone. Its not pumping oil in TC and thats why its not spining with closer to egnine rpms.

Thanks for following up with pictures. Any thoughts on root cause for oil pump failure?
How many miles on this 11/2010 build Countryman?

kinghood Apr 21, 2025 09:31 AM

112 000 miles, well the car arrived with mixed trans oil and coolant so i suspect that oil cooler gasket has gone. So i removed the oil pan and the mechatronic and send it for repair, and removed the transmission to change friction plates, bushings and pistons and clean all the mess which was everywhere inside the box. When i checked the oil pump i didnt see the bushing which is in pump housing, so i think that is main problem for broken oil pump gear. Sorry for my bad English, i'm from Bulgaria. Hope to help somebody with my expirience because i didn't find any information about my problem, thats why i share everything.

No need to apologize, your English is excellent as is the tech you have shared
