F60 Does red "P" on shifter always look on?

Does red "P" on shifter always look on?
Been in process of adding the Andream/MMI carplay unit to my countryman, I think I have it dialed-now putting it back together.
As I have only owned this car for a couple weeks, I am noticing some things during my HOURS spent in the car putting this unit in hahaha, one of them I noticed, the "P" for park on the shifter, it looks illuminated red, like its a light on beneath it? is that normal?
Even if I hit lock, and cabin lights go off, that P sure looks bright...normal?
( I put f60, but mine is a R60)
