What's with the 2015 r60 countryman s???

Hey all, brand new to the forum and dang it I need some answers! 😫, I have a 2015 r60 countryman s with a manual six. I need to get more power out of her as she is a blast to drive but really could use a substantial boost in power for my personal liking. Why cant I seem to find a legit tune for this model as it seems like this exact year and model has been skipped over completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Burger Tuning has the JB+ which should fit your car. Several tuners on this forum can probably help you with an ECU tune. MarioKart or Tigger2011 are two off the top of my head that post here and tune MINIs.

In addition , the original Clutches on R60's arent known to last very long when power is added.

Thank you for the info. Much appreciated.

@ke3ee , hmmmm, that's really good to know. What about an aftermarket clutch like a stage 2? Any input in this? I'm ready to pass the Mini into my girlfriend if I cant get more power out of her without completely breaking the bank.

I own 2 R60's right now. Both are auto's and both have Manic tuning stage 1 tunes. With a good cat back exhaust, free flowing air filter ( not a noise maker hot air intake) you will get approx 215-230 HP which is more than enough. Not sure what you expect from 1.6 liters in a 4dr car. These arent rockets and never will be They are fun to drive, handle well and look good. I also own a well known Italian brand That is my fast car.

I should also add that there are some that with several mods are getting up to 300 hp. to get to this level plan on spend $10 per HP

To amplify this just a bit. There is also a formula called power to weight ratio. From the Gen 1 to the Gen 3, they keep getting bigger but the motive force remains pretty much static. Good luck boosting the HP but I wouldn't hold my breath for a huge breakthrough.

Guys, this is all welcome feedback. I originally got the mini because frankly, it had everything i needed in a vehicle. In addition, I would be very happy at the 215 - 230 hp range as I don't plan on taking this thing on a track. Just slightly modding it to my liking. With the added hp, a slight drop and some other subtle aesthetic mods I would be right where I wanna be. Thank you all for the feedback and I welcome more. I will also begin adding pics as the mini goes through it's transformation.

Where did you get the manic tunes done? Or are they just pnp chips?

Minnie.the.Moocher Sep 25, 2019 10:28 AM

Manic is out of business. It was an ECU tune.

Message MarioKart, he has a bad ass countryman that we have talked about together. He can guide you in the right direction.

Talk to Mariokart. The RPM tune is great. I’ve been running it for well over a year almost a year and a half. I am very happy with it.
You are never going to feel like you have a V8 unless you put one in it, lol (I’d like to see that) We are stuck with only a 1.6L engine. But that little engine can really crank out some power for its size. These engines were built and tuned for the much lighter hardtop. The Countryman is a bigger and heavier beast. With the car stock, it can feel like a bit of a dog. What the tune will do for you is make the car feel lighter. Like it suddenly lost a bunch of weight. It results in the car feeling snappier and more .... eager. It’s a noticeable difference. The added power makes the car feel like it should. Once it’s tuned, you will be like “oh yeah, That’s what was missing “
Im quite happy with mine, and my only real regret is that I waited for so long!
Good luck and enjoy your Countryman

I also own a FIAT but it is only a little bit faster than our JCW R61.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

D'oh! I didn't read the forum yesterday -- you beat me to the Fiat joke.
