high RPM sounds like backfire

Recently my CM S feels like hesitation or backfire whenever I press heavily on the gas peddle (high RPM)

Any one have any idea, I was thinking of a bad plug or bad coil, no codes.

The car is running Stage2 ….. normal driving everything is fine.

Thanks

I would look at plugs, coils or HPFP.

Great, thank you so much Mario, I will start with the plugs and then coils … the HPFP was replace under warranty a couple of years ago.

Thanks a million

Just replaced the plugs with an old set I had kept, they solved the problem, will be ordering a new set.

Great forum thanks again Mario.

Glad to hear it’s resolved. Many times it won’t show a fault but will show a fault when plugged into a BMW diagnostic software like ISTA, etc.

Today's update, this morning I replaced the 4 coils (with OEM ones) and that finally corrected the backfires at high RPM.

The Ponies are back on my CM stage 2.
