Something you discovered AFTER you bought the Countryman
Maybe a fun little thread...what's something you discovered after you got the car? I've had mine for about 2 days now and discovered (via a YouTube video) that you can move the back seats back/forth for addition trunk space. Sure enough you can! This will come in handy for sure.
I've only had run of the mill domestic vehicles before, so there were a number of things that were new to me on the Mini.
The wheel studs come off, not just nuts. I've never had that before. Discovered that when I put winter tires on.
Rain sensing wipers. Did not know the car had those until I read the manual.
The car has super bright xenon headlights, and the rear view mirror is auto dimming. I only test drove in the daylight.

It took me a little googling to find out how to do this with the 2 buttons needed. I would have been really annoyed if it could not go all the way down.

Hey! Dude, help me out! How did you solve this? Thanks!
The main button allows you to move the headrest up/down. Opposite side there is a smaller, barely visible button. You have to use a key or screwdriver tip to press it in. If you press both buttons in at the same time then you can fully push the headrest down!!!! I would have been really annoyed if this was not possible.
not only the windows but, sunroof as well - open AND close. you need to reprogram the code via NCSExpert program. See if anyone in this forum who lives around your neighborhood would do it for you.

check out the carly app for iphone and android ... does the same coding as ncsexpert but all you do is select check-boxes of the setting you want to change
is is not free
it does much more than coding such as real-time monitoring, read and clear CELs and program new battery to car

I found out my armrest had storage in it 2 days after I bought my 2016, lol. Thought I felt a button when I test drove it, but it didn't seem to do anything, then 2 days later I was fiddling and it opened, lol.
I learned that the clipboard I use for work insists on being buckled in, per the passenger safety belt warning I get when it's on my passenger seat, lol.
I'm on day 3, I'm sure I'll be adding to this list

On the good side:
Gearing on the 6-speed is good...just got a reg Cooper as a loaner and 1-2-3 is WAY too tall...made me appreciate my gearbox so much more.
If you push and hold the "lock" button on the door handle after you get out, all the windows will close.
While not totally intuitive, the bluetooth connection to my iPhone/iTunes is pretty seamless.
"Sport" mode makes that beautiful lift throttle burble :>
On the not good side:
Brought my stock CM-S All4 out to Streets of Willow for a track day and it seems they made everything bigger on that car except the clutch and the brakes...15 minutes into a 20 minute session the brakes started to fade...and the clutch gets smelly if you try to do a high RPM launch...(of course there are mods, but I'm on a lease...maybe JCW would've helped?)

The car seat occupants in the back seat are going to love it!!
Devil in the details...
So my first day solo and without a giant purse, the passenger airbag light on the dome console would not stay off. Creeped me out. The warning that I will not be protected if I am somehow wrenched sideways during impact is not a comfort. Depending on where I put my bag or backpack, the light goes off.
I really wish the nighttime instrument display panel would disco/rotate as well. Save me from all the orange.
I love the tiny gas tank. Is that weird? It just fills up in no time. No more dancing around in the cold waiting to fill up!
The driver side sun visor is installed crooked. You can't tell until you unfold it and get a wonky view of a sun-splashed road ahead. I'm now thinking about where to put a sunglasses holder.
