No airflow for heating or A/C

First post - just purchased a used Countryman S All4 last month.
I have searched for this issue and have seen some similar but nothing seems exactly the same.

Last week I noticed that my A/C did not seem to be cooling the car so I assumed something was up with it.
Yesterday though I noticed that the heat was not really working either (I am in Ontario Canada - took a road trip to Daytona Beach and then back to Ontario - hence the A/C and heat in the same week!)

I have the automatic climate control and the indicator shows the fan increasing in speed but that does not translate to what is happening at the vents - no real air flow there.

I have read about the on-board diagnostic and wonder if that applies to the R60.
I will try that at lunch today.

Just wondering if anyone has a diagnosis of this issue of no air flow for both A/C and heating.

Thanks
Mike

Greetings from SO-FLA,

Usually, problems with fan speed and/or HVAC settings are caused by a bad blower motor resistor. In most vehicles it usually located in the HVAC box behind and/or under the glove compartment. Simple unplug and switch out for a new one. I hope this helps.

Thanks JuanTheHuman!

I have read that there is not a resistor if you have the auto temp control - it is some kind of regulator module

I guess I will have to find it to see exactly where it is and the part number

Blower issues

You might check your alternator and battery. In my 2012 CM All4 with auto climate, I had the same problem with the blower. Ended up being the voltage was low due to a bad alternator, and the blower slowed down as a result...

Please make sure your pollen filter isn't simply really clogged. These filters can really stop airflow when they get blocked.

Did your fan only go to a certain speed? My 2012 ALL4S with auto climate will only blow to moderate speed even though the indicator in the controls goes all the way to max. I’m trying to figure out what part I need if it’s not a resistor?

Curious if mpeever ever solved the riddle. Experiencing the same thing with our 2013 Clubman S. Intermittently the fan won't "push" the A/C thru the vents. I can feel the cool air so I know the compressor is on, but the auto climate doesn't seem to want to increase the speed of the fan.

MWM I will check the alternator in the morning. I've had a number of electrical issues of late. One of the Headlamp connectors burned out and I've had problems with the #3 ignition coil twice now.

the OP last posted over 2-1/2 years ago. I wouldn't hold out hope for a reply but I do hope you get your issue sorted. You may want to start your own thread. I believe the OP is MIA.
