TVandNav2Go for 2014 Countryman for Backup Camera

Hey guys,

I'm new to the board, and to avoid getting anyone annoyed, I immediately tried to search for the TVandNav2Go unit--came up with little info.

I know the backup camera issue has been beaten to death but I was wondering if anyone can provide a recent update on the status of the TVandNav2Go unit and how it's holding up. This is the one I am specifically referring to:

http://tvandnav2go.com/bmw/86-mini-c...interface.html

I am 2 days away from getting a used 2014 Countryman and want to add the backup camera on it. This unit seems like it will do the trick as I want to use the mini entertainment system display and just have the camera on in reverse.

The website says there are two methods:

1) involves cutting two wires in the vehicle and connecting them to our interface, these are the can hi & low wires that are conveniently located in the same area behind the screen. In addition, 12v ignition power and ground are needed; and

2) forgo connecting the can wires, but you would need to use the included remote instead of the iDrive controller and if adding backup camera, a wire needs to be connected to reverse lights in the vehicle.

The second sounds like an easier option. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, stay away from this stuff, its non automotive grade generic interface.

We are the only company whose products are Made In the USA and 100% automotive grade.

You could use this camera as a back up and its from the MINI European parts department. Has a camera for the rear on one kit.
