Out with the old, in with the new! At the dealer yesterday, trading in my '12 CMS Light Coffee, for the 2013 Brilliant Copper CMS we ordered 6 weeks ago. Color is worth very penny, looks like a candy color.
In fact the color was the deciding factor when it came to trade in. I never could accept the flat look of the Light Coffee. We never had any issues with the '12, in fact, this was the first time she had been back to the dealer.
Some first impressions:
Biggest WOW, was the ride quality! Even though it has the same 18" Turbo Fan wheels, and RFS', the car rides like a Caddy. We could not believe it, and I'm still not sure what would have made such a difference. The cars are speced identically, so that's not it. Maybe Mini has changed the shock package, or the tires themselves are better, we just don't know yet.
We really appreciate the window lift switch placement in the doors, that's really so much better.
The flat rear seat, sans rear rail, is much more practical and looks great.
Very happy with the addition of the rear radar sensors. Having backed into a garbage can myself, (I blame that on the small rear window. LOL), these should be a big thumb-up.
The only negative was the boot lettering, but those were removed free of charge by the dealer. It was that, or no deal.
Tomorrow she gets her 4" exhaust tips, and all will be right in the world again!

Congrats! I've never liked the copper color on the website, but I've seen one in person and it is beautiful. You just cannot repro it right in the configurator.
The first CMS we test drove was the light coffee color and though it had most of what we would have wanted for my wife, the color was just a turnoff, but oddly enough, I see a lot of them around here, so someone definitely likes them. She went a different route and got a VW TDI, and I went back to the dealer a month later and ordered my CMS.
Hoping to have by mid-July.
Post pics of you got 'em!

Interesting comment on the ride quality. Both our 2012 and our 2013 came from the factory with 18 inch Bridgestone run flats. We noticed no difference in the ride whatsoever with the factory tires. Both cars were equipped with the standard suspension.
I think I found the difference: the '13 is equipped with Pirelli Cinturato P7 225/45 R18 tires. They have a taller sidewall, and are an all-season tire. I'd highly recommend these on an 18" wheel.

I completely agree with the OP on the copper color. That looks outstanding in person....just outstanding...not sure if you got the white roof and mirrors, but that's how I saw it the other day and the whole package was visually impressive.

Something has changed. When we ordered both our 2012 and 2013 we were told by the dealer that 18" all season tires were not available from the factory, and a number of other people here on the website confirm this, and were complaining. Perhaps BMW listenedOriginally Posted by napolean2424
