Ok, looks like the shipping on my bulbs was delayed due to the weather out east, but they're in Orange County now and due to be delivered today. (Yeah I know, that's what us West Coasters have to deal with compared to the destruction out east - I am NOT complaining)

My Wifes taking my car (should say "Our" car now since she loves it so much) tonight to dinner with a few friends and i'm going right after work tomorrow to Palm Springs for the weekend so I'm not sure when I'll have a few minutes to install - but as soon as I DO i'll post up the before AND after shots. I already have the before shots taken...I can post them up now if anybody wants for the anticipation factor.... lol

Edit: Just popped the hood now and looked at the headlight housing - SO easy to get into and no cramped space (I haven't changed out bulbs forever, since I had my 2004 Scion XB that I sold 3 years ago) - this'll be easy - will install as soon as I get the bulbs assuming i have a spare 5-10 minutes while at work )

So I put in the bulbs, and they look 100% the SAME as my stock ones :(

Aren't I supposed to notice a bright white from these? I don't THINK i got the wrong pair, though I did get them from ebay - they seemed legit and not knock-offs

Will post up pictures when i get home from work - sorry I waited a week - wanted to see if they'd change at all

I haven't used the Morimoto's, but did get a set from 3B Specialties. I will swear by their customer service. They are the best guys I have dealt with in a very long time. They don't advertise a set for the Mini, but if you call them they do have em. Could save you a little from their listed price too. I had them on my Ram and loved em. Now I have them on my CM and love them. Still need to work out the bulb out warning, but other than that, they are great! I'll try and get some pics in a few and post.

Here are the pictures I promised

Capt611, Did you do a retrofit or just bought a bulb from them? I really have a bad eyesight at night and where I live, its almost every night that theres deers running or crossing on the road. The stock light on my CM is just not bright enough for me.

I added just the bulbs and ballasts required. Mine are 6000K both hi/low head and fog lights. The only issues I have found is the light out warning and I need to have them aimed kinda low, IMHO, to not get flashed. I'm beginning to think through getting a set of projector housings, and putting these bulb/ballast setup in the projectors. I am just very weary of doing a retrofit as I hate to cut on a new car. Maybe just me though.

The process is similar. some cutting of the stock housing may be necessary. I believe there are aftermarket projector housings you can buy for the r56, but not sure about the r60.

Try looking for something like this for the r60 if you don't' want to cut up your only pair of headlights...

Check out this forum, it really is all you need to know!

Thanks a ton for all the info. I will have to look into all the options and see what I can do.

I ordered a HID Kit, not just bulbs. THe kit I started with was http://shop.3bspecialties.com/3BSpec...HID-H13-6k.htm, but ended up calling them to customize the kit based on their recommendations.

Great guys, I'm sure they will get you setup.

Good luck!

I would guess the MINI Xenons are somewhere in the 5000-6000K range. They're super bright compared to almost any halogen bulb.
I was reading mini and bmw xenons are 4300k
