Stainless Steel Foot Pedals

I just took delivery of my 2012 Base CM last week, and realized when looking at rubber floormats online that my car didn't come with Stainless Steel Pedals.

So I went to MINIUSA.com to see if I was mistaken and that they were part of a package or another option. Nope--right there in the full features list, Stainless Steel Pedals are a standard item.

So why not my car? Any other recent CM deliveries NOT include Stainless Pedals?

It seems to have been conceived on a Friday. Perhaps that explains it.

Mine wasn't recent, but I noticed the same thing when I got mine about a year ago. The dealership said no base model had them, but I talked to mini usa when I saw them listed, they eneded up putting them on for me. I swear the one I test drove had them, but my MA even called someone he sold a base to who didn't have them either.

So, you should be able to get them.

If they are white...peel the plastic off!

starman--this is why no one should ever take their car to Jiffy Lube on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Everyone there is hungover (let's be honest, no one should EVER go to Jiffy Lube. Ever)

drmsmiller--
how did you contact MINI USA? Through the ASK MINI number? Were they reluctant, or did they get right on it? How long did it take?

And there is definitely not white plastic on them!

It's not a huge deal but the Stainless Pedals are cool looking. Since I didn't get a super deal on my CM, I'm planning to push them a little on this.

It's been a year, so I don't recall exactly how it went. The dealer was reluctant at first, I called miniusa confirmed they were listed as standard and went back to the dealer who I believe also contacted mini directly. They got the OK and then cheerfully put them on.

You might do a forum search, as I did post about it.

Never seen a base model in any of the MINIs that had the SS pedals and just assumed that it was an "S" upgrade!

Uh oh, I smell trouble. Folks are gonna be lining up at MINI dealers looking for their stainless pedals much like they did for food rations in the movie 'Contagion.' Pass the Forsynthia!

Nah. I see it playing out more like the paperboy in Better Off Dead. Instead of "I want my two dollars!" it'll be "I want my stainless pedals!"

Better Off Dead
? How far do you wanna go back Grampa? At least you compared it to something with sound in it, so in that regard I can see the similarity in that one would have to speak to MINI about getting their pedals.

I got my CM in May and just realized, I don't have them either. I had assumed it was an "S" thing, myself. Dang, now I want them, too, if they're standard!

I did not have them on my CM, but do on my CMs. They are nice to have but seem to be more slippery when they are wet than the non stainless ones are.

I just noticed that the specs seem to be for the 2013's as BT/Ipod is standard and Sirius is now a $250 option. Maybe it is a change for 2013 as well? When we bought our CMs a month ago they said that they were not taking orders for '12's anymore so maybe the website changed too.

Edit: The builder still has the '12 specs with BT/Ipod as $500, Sirius included. It appears that the "Specs" and "Build Specs" are different on the website.
