Unable to find a block heater for my 2015 R60 (if anyone knows of one please let me know) so installed an oil pan heater and also a trickle charger. Very disappointed that Mini seems to think that one is not necessary....gets down to -40 (C or F same thing) where I live and don't have indoor parking.
Installed a Zerostart 340063 pad heater which was the perfect size for the oil pan (bigger wouldn't have fit). Installation went well, marked the size, taped off a little bit larger and then sanded off the paint with some 180 sandpaper. Cleaned with alcohol, plugged it in for about 5 seconds (got instantly warm), removed backing and applied. They provide some sealant for the edges - I applied over the tape and then removed the tape for a clean edge. Worked well.
For the trickle charger I installed a NOCO G1100 (1.1 amp). I didn't want to see it in the engine compartment so actually installed it on the back of the battery access cover - it fit perfectly and only a couple of bolt heads visible. Has different settings for AGM, normal, etc., but have checked a couple of times and it remembers the previous setting...which I was a bit concerned about as it is hidden.
It was -30C yesterday (-22F)...plugged it in for an hour and it started great. (Note. have original factory battery....worried it is getting a bit weak).
All good so far...will come back with any concerns/issues.
Just picked up a used Mini Countryman S ALL4 and brought it home.
I wrench my own toys as much as I can, so when I got her home I gave her my once over to get things right.
I put her up and changed the oil and filter, the air filter and cabin filter. I changed the transmission fluid/oil on the 6-Spd. I picked up the gear lube for the differentials but I did not have the mammoth 15mm allen wrench needed to get the drain plug out so that waits until tomorrow when I can get it. Just picked up a couple of bottles of fresh DOT4 to refresh the brakes and clutch.
Tried coding with bimmercode, and got double flash hazards, pathway lighting with remote, and convenience closing with remote working. However, I can't get my dogs to turn on when unlocking the car.. Also, can't get my mirrors to fold (2012 CMS) with remote.

Anyone have any luck doing so?
You need to have the heated mirrors For them to fold and unfold with the remote.
As for the fogs to turn on when unlocking, I believe it’s something to do with the DRLs. I’m not 100% on that.
Check in the coding section (if you haven’t already) some one there can point you in the right direction.

I do have heated mirrors, so I'm not sure why they don't fold or unfold with my remote. I'll check about the DRLs part, it's worth a shot. I posted in the coding section, but no luck unfortunately. Thanks for the tip!
Enabled fog lights as DRL, DRL option set as on via the head unit. I've never had any form of DRLs though, even before coding.
One of my car's previous owners did some mods, and I'm wondering if they messed with some settings.
Can any Countryman owners with adaptive headlights chime in here about what regular DRLs look like? My wife's R56 (stock halogen converted to aftermarket projector/xenons) has the headlights on when DRLs are enabled.

in the Carly App, in order to enable the mirror auto fold you need to have the heated mirrors (Which you have) and you just need to enable the feature. It should activate when you double press the lock door feature on the remote.
Well, it wasn't today but on Friday I installed some yellow led fogs and Saturday I had some 215/65 /17 Falken Wild Peak AT3 installed. And boy am I loving them! I had one rubbing incident when I drilled a dip that I had no clue was there. Just a bit of rubbing in the rear as the tires got stuffed.
I washed my car, upped the inflation of the tires to 42lbs front and 37lbs rear to see if it would be less soggy on the Gmax-05s tires. Found Bilstein B6 shocks for a good deal... https://www.shockwarehouse.com/index...me=Mini+Cooper
I know this is old, but just an FYI:
Only 2013+ are able to code in auto fold mirrors. 2012 doesn't have the module that we can control.
Was the first thing I was looking for when I went digging in NCS expert. its a new module that we didn't get. :( (there was a company claiming you can retrofit the module, but I cant find that link anymore)
Sunroof open and close with remote is great too during the summer.

Installed a massive intercooler. In a "test fit" mode, not 100% done yet. Still need to finish the aluminum piping, recirc valve on the cold side pipe, and properly mount the IC exactly where I want it. Overall goal is just to have a bigger IC and shorter overall piping.
Also installing the JCW side steps - coated in Line-X - this week. Preparing for the wide fender install which is also coated in Line-X. Going for an aggressive look, MINI batmobile style.
Put in new spark plugs/ignition coils today (first time doing this, still drives, so I call that a win!).
I bought my 2011 All4 S with 85k miles last September and was a bit worried about 5 years of mostly missing service history, but so far everything exceeded my expectations.
Seems like the previous owner just did all the maintenance themselves and was pretty diligent about it! I think the "Minis On Top" badge was a good sign :D
Put a little green/copper color-changing the paint on the rear unlock handle (which as an added benefit also toned down the chrome MINI lettering), blacked out the giant chrome wing there that was driving me nuts.... I know I'm beautiful but don't need a mirror back there.... debadged the rear lettering and slapped on a bumper protector for good measure... now just need to see what I'm going to do about that chrome beltline and get around to washing the dang car again... Shiny Hiney!

Its because they didn't add in the module to auto fold until 2013. There is a company that will retro fit this for $$$
i looked into adding in the module but ended up not being worth it. Check out my coding add-ons in the coding thread, a lot of really cool stuff you can do with ncsExpert.
