Halo Ring Fogs - eBay item

http://www.ebay.com/itm/110785949339...#ht_2758wt_827

What is your opinion or consensus on this product. I think it would look really cool to have halo ring on our fog lights as the DRL.

Do you think I can replace the factory fogs with this without running into issues? I am not a handy man so will be going to a shop to get this done.

Thanks

sliksunny-

Those look pretty cool....and pretty darn bright! I wish they had more head on pictures to look at. If they don't interfere with anything on the car I think they would be a nice addition. I always did like the bmw halo headlights....

Interesting, they do look pretty nice. I wonder if they really are that bright though. I would be interested in seeing some real pics installed.

Xenon/halogen driving/fog lights with integrated LED DRL surrounds including brackets, wiring, and switch - claimed to be Countryman compatible - and for $68 fir the PAIR! Now that really is amazing. As of this moment, 1 pair sold, 3 pairs left....
"offer the performance and brightness of H.I.D. bulbs" using H3/55W bulbs.

Where would you mount these things? Price sounds too good to be true.

You know fig light use is regulated in most states, right?

Here in Oregon, fog/auxiliary lights must be turned off whenever there is another vehicle within 350' in front (same direction) or within 500' coming the other way. In addition, fog/auxiliary lights must be turned off during normal conditions.

So you could rarely use them even if you installed them.

When you look at the 2nd image of the blue rings, they look exactly like a set of glowing rings that fit inside speakers for a Honda motorcycle. http://www.addonaccessories.net/shop...ER+LIGHTS+2010

There are only 2 LED's that illuminate the ring. It's plastic and I doubt they would take a lot abuse from road debris like snow and ice and whatever. As "sirbikes" says, "Price sounds too good to be true."

Below is what I got from them so the price got even more 2 good 2 be true!
I am going to get them and be the guinea pig!

Dear sliksunny,

Greetings,

I checked our catalog and we currently do not have a picture of the product on file. These fog lights are 4.375 in / 11.1cm in diameter and will fit easily into openings of that size. A quick measurement of the diameter of the opening can confirm this. Since we currently do not have a picture, if you would be interested, I can offer a %50 discount on the product ($34) in exchange for pictures of the application for our catalog. Please let me know if you are interested or if you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,

- blinglamps

Good find! That's exactly what they look like! As DRL's I doubt the rings would be bright enough to be useful.

Thanks. I have a bit of an advantage as I actually tried to do this to my "Honda Motorcycle" Didn't work as they would not fit in the cowl that holds the lights.

This is a good image of my 2 vehicles, only the Mini should be red as well. :-)

Lightbulb not so bright

So i got these couple weeks ago and i finally got them installed this past weekend. Most of you were right the halo fogs as DRLS are worthless you can't see them at all. The are OK looking at night time. The fog itself are brighter then stock i feel, but when the fogs are on you can't see the halo ring even at night time.

Of course i got the bulb out warnings on both of them but i am going to code them out or just go back to stock haven't made up my mind yet.

Have a look at these, a bit down in the page: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2609580929...fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
Ebay auction ended before, but I thought they looked cool and bright, so I saved the add.
Will considder them if they show up on ebay again, but first I should probably take delivery of my SD All4. Only a week or so now

What I'd like are these LED Fog lights but with housing and mounts so they can be mounted to the grill or fender.

I was wondering if you have any pics of the mounts you used for mounting the fog lights. Looking at the OEM housing, I couldn't figure out a way they could be mounted without major modifications.
