Not only does www.gobadges.com have great badges, they are fantastic to work with! They did an amazing job on my custom badges, and even picked up on a tiny blemish on one of them (which I might not have noticed), and sent a free replacement out

Just got my badge from GoBadges last week. I ordered on Wed and had it by Saturday, possibly earlier b.c we weren't home Th-F. I am very happy with how it looks and can't wait to buy more of them.

Can someone tell me how secure the badges are when you fasten them to the grill (or using the license plate holders I've seen) ? I'm concerned that when I drive around with my grill badges on and park somewhere (like the mall or the supermarket) that someone will steal the badges...I wouldn't be so concerned if I lived in a nice, small town, but living in a major metropolitan area like I do it's more of a concern. I don't went to spend the money and then feel like I can only use them at certain times...

The GoBadge holder is certainly steal-able, but someone would have to go to some trouble. It velcro straps tightly through the grill, so someone would have to get behind it with a box cutter and hack it apart. Seems unlikely, but depends on your area!

The badge itself sits in the holder and then you screw the front portion of the holder over it. It looks like one piece, so your average thief may not think to try to take it apart to remove the badge. I leave mine on all the time.

Another vote for GoBadges! I ordered a few badges from various places, and GoBadges are definitely the best looking and best quality of all of them. I also bought the GoBadge holder--I love that it velcros on and has a ring to secure the badges. Now I just need my Mini to get built so I can attach them!

That said, does anyone have any info on CooperFlags? I ordered a couple of badges from them (they're the only ones who make a South African flag badge) about 15 days ago and heard nary a peep from them. Emailed them yesterday and haven't gotten a response yet. Are they just slow to ship or should I be concerned? I don't mind waiting as long as I get some sort of communication!

Thanks everyone..

I looked at Cooperflags as they have more of a holiday selection, but they seem to have a no return policy which I don't feel comfortable with.

+1 for GoBadges.

All others are just a magnet with cheap vinyl on 'em. The 3D GoBadges have real dimension and a real cool factor, not to mention much better durability. I've got a whole bunch of them, and swap them out, depending on my mood. Been through tough snowy winters, countless car washes, high speeds, etc. No damage yet!

Oops, nevermind! Just got a shipping notification. Guess I was just getting antsy. They have some really cool designs over there!

I ordered the go badges from out motoring.com and got them within 4 days. I recommend go badges or out motoring.com for fast, reliable shipping & communication.

I also ordered a boot badge holder & badges from Cooper Flags and have yet to get any response from them. They haven't responded to my emails inquiring to make sure they ship the boot badge holder for the clubman or my phone call. It's been 2 weeks. I don't mind having to wait if only they would communicate. Since their CS is slow and communication has been nonexistent with me, I don't recommend Cooper Flags.

I think I'm going to order from motoringbadges.com next.

I'm greatful for this post - excellent post! I wouldn't have learned about this otherwise! Just received my badge from gobadges yesterday and put it on this morning. It looks great but a word of warning for 2009 R56 hardtop owners: you only have ONE location choice on the grille; on the driver's side at the far end of the grille. those of you desiring symmetry and wishing to mount centered with your bonnet stripes will be disappointed (that's what I wanted to do). However, now that it's mounted I rather like the position. Also you have to attach to the two middle grills with the strapping vertical rather than horizontal as there is no bracing you can attach to as advertised. I am a little concerned because as a result, the badge can slide left to right even when tightened because there's nothing you can really lash it down to. Therefore the mounting isn't as securely fixed as mounting on a more conventional grille (Cooper S or JCW). I'm going to see if there's an alternative solution, but this is just a warning here.

I ordered some badges from Todds Mods a month ago. No word on them and no reply to my query. Never had this problem before.

Update is that the sale was charged on the 12th so it looks like the badges are on their way. Just wish there was a bit of communication from the other end. Todds Mods has always been reliable so I'm glad that there wasn't a problem. He has some nice choices if anyone is interested. Usually only takes 2 weeks to fill an order, too.

I'm new to MINI, can someone explain this whole badge thing? Is it a quirky thing specific to MINI, or to other car makes do it as well? I honestly never noticed them anywhere before until now.

It is an old British (mostly) and European car thing. See, for instance:

I'm bummed "go badges" is taking a break from custom orders for a while. I have a couple of others of their designs that I'm looking at. We'll see.
