Sigh...first date with the body shop tommorrow

Well, a mere month after buying my CMS, I'm already needing body repair. Some complete *#@(#$@)(! decided to put 3 big dents in my hood last night while it was parked outside at a friends house. The shop believes it can be fixed with paintless dent removal, so here's hoping I don't have to have it resprayed. Regardless, I'm out about $250. Anyone else the victim of a hate crime to their MINI yet?

No love or hate crimes here. Maybe it was some overly stressed Smurf trying to get in so he could drive it back to the forrest?

Hope they can get it smoothed out and back in shape. Good luck!

All I can figure is nice car + iffy neighborhood = crime of jealousy.

Probably some Juke owner who had just taken delivery - and then he saw your ride.

I once had a bike get the crap kicked out of it, simply for the crime of being near a college bar. Some drunk yahoo kicked the front wheel bad enough to ruin it and then kicked the gears until half the teeth were bent. That cost me something like $200 to put right.

So I bet it was just some drunk idiot having "fun."

+1 for the Juke joke, ghamma.

I have been a victim twice one. First someone cracked my passenger tail light cover, and more recently someone dented my hood right at the nose. I am still looking for suitable aftermarket tails. The nose dent I pulled out with a bathroom plunger. You can still see a dent in certain light from a certain angle, but that'll do for now.

+1. I just got off the phone with a friend and told him I would've rather someone had sucker punched me than done this to my car.

I remember when I finished restoration on my Lotus White 67 VW Bug. Had to run a trip into San Francisco for work, parked, came back to my car, someone had put a cigarette out on the top of my car, making sure to hold the hot cigarette there long enough to burn the paint before crushing it out and leaving it on top of the roof. No reason for that other than to f-up a well done car. Fortunately my body guy repaired it fairly easily (thick paint with no clear coat).

Sad to hear about the mini haters out there. It all boils down to jealousy and envy. They just wish they had a mini.

$735 to repair the rear panel (got keyed), and replacing the chrome trim near it (also got nicked).

Could your friend be a female with a PO'd ex-boyfriend?

Most of these guys do have a mini. And they think that by acting like a dork, people will think they have a maxi.

Sealy - Who knows it's not the size of the vehicle, but how much fun its handling gives you.
