Who's your furry friend?
Not sure if we've done this, yet. If we have, I'll ask the admins to close and move this one.
Saw tippykayak's sig and thought I'd ask y'all. Who do you share your Countryman with? The one that slobbers on the windows and drops trash on the floor. And who you still love. This is my group - - - http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5276/...8f613ee2_z.jpg (Lucy, Rufus, Cym, and George [Sealy, Dandie, Sealy, Sealy]) They're set for the 2012 ASTC calendar. And, normally, they ride in the truck. |

He will share ALL of the new 3-place rear seating with no one. However, he loves anyone who has even a faint pulse and, when the light is just right, he closely resembles a stand-up comedian in a ghillie-suit. He does not shed, nor is he encumbered by intelligence. |
I have a picture of my precious furry friend in my gallery, one that I snapped on a whim so it's not great. But, she goes everywhere with me and even has a car seat so she can see out the windows. She looks pretty sexy in the Mini.

Hanna is my furry friend. I got these very nice custom fitted for my MINI CM rear covers from Pooch Styles.

First thing after purchase, we removed and stored the back "shelf" that covers the boot. Hanna will ride back there if we have two backseat passengers for a short distance. :) Usually we have the seats in the position shown in the photo and she has plenty of room. But still rides behind the seat our son sits in. the poochstyle covers have extra padding there. She loves to lay there, or sit up and look out the rear window. She gets lots of smiles and waves from the cars behind us!
Hanna's photo was submitted to pooch styles and appears in their gallery of satisfied customers, along with lots of other cuties. |
Here are my guys in the MINI:

Love it. I was thinking of getting the stripes on my Surf Blue, but have not done it yet. I guess this clinches it. I will. looks so good. Love the pups, they are beauties!

Could the Countryman be the ultimate "Dog MINI"?
With four doors and a spacious cargo area, it just might be! BTW, I love the bumper pad on the Pooch Styles cargo mat...it's a must have. |
I even ordered a dog magnet for the boot (decided to go with magnets instead of decals so I could remove them periodically and wash and wax, thus hopefully limiting any marks).
They're off right now, so I can wash and wax and line them up better when I put them back on. http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...ak/MINI/S1.jpg |
everyone's dogs look so happy in your mini's.. makes me want to get another! hmm should I get the CM first or another furry friend?

Also, they've been pushing the Pet Zoom Loungee on TV. Found them on line at Bed, Bath, and Whatever - should have them in stores, too. I know nothing about them, just throwing it out. |
No picture in the new Countryman yet but here's our "furry friend". Her name is Cinco. We call her The Five-Footed Wonder Mutt or, more often, Stink-O. She's one in a million due to her extra foot. You can see it in the photo on her back right leg. She actually has a right AND left paw on that leg, starting at the knee. She's a mutant but she LOVES road trips.

What a great looking lady! She has quite the regal composure, and looks very intelligent. (or is that just an act?)

Hanna loves car rides too, but everytime you stop for a stop sign or red light she sits up and looks out the back window. sort of a doggie version of "are we there yet?". last year we were packing the car for vacation, and she jumped in and refused to get out, she wedged herself in to our small MINI cooper between the car seat that Nathan was sitting in and the luggage on the "flattened" seat next to him. She can sit pretty tight when she is determined. No amount of bribery would get her out, till we had Nathan get out and started unloading the car.... that did it. we have a house sitter, so she had to take her in for treats until we could load back up and get in to leave. She reallly wanted to go...
|
HA! Same here. Cinco does the same thing at stop lights. She just sits and stares out the window like a kid a lot of the time, like in the photo. I always wonder what she's thinking about. When she does finally lay down she's right back up if you slow or stop.
She also had a bad habit of jumping in as soon as we cracked a door when we first got her. We have since trained her to go sit on a special rug when it's time to go and stay until invited. It kills her to do it but she will most of the time. We have also managed to train her not to jump in the car unless invited. A few times, though, she jumped in and I had to back out then pull back in the garage to get her out. Seems her comprehension of how long the ride was is limited. There have been times, too, when I've been working in the garage and I just open the door and let her sit in the car. That seems a close second to an actual car ride. |
Yeah, she get spoiled by the drive through at the bank and the local Dunkin donuts (they give her a munchkiin) and "you can never tell when it's a ride to a place that gives treats when you stop". So when the car stops, you sit up quickly so the teller can see "Hey, here I am, look, cute dog in the car!" Ha ha.
good thing too, when I was a kid our dog thought every car ride was to the vet and never wanted to get in! :eek2: |
Dang, sounds like our dogs are living parallel lives. I suspect it's just very common. We have the same routine at drive-thrus. It's so bad that if the place doesn't offer a treat I have to get one from our stach in the glove box. I'm well trained.
