Who's on the Madame Butterfly?

Wanted to check and see if anyone currently on the Madame Butterfly has been able to check the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics site and input your VIN into the Cargo ID and actually have it pull up your car?

I have been following the board for awhile and it seems like many usually have luck with this. I know my car is on the Madame Butterfly from talking with my MA and Mini, but inputting my VIN never pulls up my car. Ship left on 4/9/11. Looking at Marinetraffic.com the last info/position received was on 4/13/11.

Ship is supposed to doc in California on May 4th.

My MINI Cooper S is on the Madame Butterfly per the WWL web site. I entered my VIN and it pulled up the shipping details for my car...

Our CM is on Madame Butterfly. Same problem with vin and wwl.

We have wondered if we are on the Madame Buterfly, as our dealer told us our Countryman left Bremerhaven on a boat headed for Port Hueneme about the time the Madame Butterfly was scheduled to sail. VIN number's all around our number show up on the WW cargo tracking, but our's does not.

If Pure Orange was on the Madam Butterfly, I'd seriously consider sending him to one of those places that reorients cars that are light in their Pirelli loafers. Luckily, he's on the Torrens - now that's a real man's boat.

Madame Butterfly still not showing up on any of the ship tracking maps. Supposed to be in Panama tomorrow.

Madam Butterfly- travel safe

Wow you can track shipping traffic like this. Thanks. I've been kinda numb over the whole adventure- from production to arrival. Now you have my attention. Goose Bumps!

Our dealer told us our Countryman arrives in Port Huenene on May 5th. According to the Port of Oxnard (Port Hueneme) schedule ( http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...l_schedule.pdf ), the closest arriving RO/RO vessel to that date is the Madame Butterfly. The KLine vessel Eastern Highway arrives at PH on May 5th, but its schedule is destinations only in the Pacific. The Madame Butterfly shows in Marine Traffic and is currently anchored off the entrance to the Panama Canal.

After arriving a little early for the scheduled transit window, Madame Butterfly waited for 10 hours off Punta Galeta. She has now started up again and is heading closer to the Panama Canal entry at Christobal.

Thanks for the updates. I should have the car before my birthday . . . hopefully. Will all depend on how long it takes to get from VDC to Arizona.

Anyone know if the bonnet stripes get put on at the factory, VDC, or dealer?

Madame Butterfly, which has been docked in Cristobal for the day, has just cut loose and is again maneuvering toward the Panama Canal.

Madame Butterfly transited the Gatun locks overnight and has been sitting in the lake near those locks since. A few minutes ago she fired up again and is now heading for the Miraflores locks and the exit to the Pacific Ocean. The webcam for viewing the Miraflores locks is at:

Awesome! I am definitely starting to get anxious waiting. Will be nice to not have to share a car with my wife.

Madame Butterfly completed her passage through the Panama Canal and is now ripping along at about 17 knots heading for Port Hueneme - congratulations to those partying aboard. The photo is as the vessel is approaching the locks leading to the Pacific Ocean.

Great pictures. Anyone know how many cars Madame Butterfly can carry at one time?

Looks like we are on the same boat!

Madame Butterfly should be getting to California on either Tuesday or Wednesday of this coming week. Getting excited. Wonder how long it will take for my car to get unloaded and loaded onto a truck headed for Phoenix?

bradrulz May 1, 2011 03:24 PM

Looks like per the Port of Hueneme Oxnard Harbor District schedule, the Madame Butterfly should be there on May 3rd.

We are only guessing we are on the Madame Butterfly based on sketchy information provided by our dealer. Putting 2 and 2 together, it seems that we must be on the Madame Butterfly. However, the WW RO/RO vessel cargo tracking shows no info for the Madame Butterfly that I have seen. Inputting a partial VIN similar to ours pops up a variety of MINIs on various WW boats, but not the MB. I assume those of you that figure you are on the MB got the info from your MA?

Correct, I received info from my MA. Entering VIN number on the WW site has never returned anything for me. I am confident I am on the Madame Butterfly as the Mini dial in number was updated to reflect on ship a day after Madame Butterfly left port.

Madame Butterfly just popped back up on Marine Traffic!

Ensanada soon!
