I would disagree about the slowness. Well, if you have the standard non-S Countryman, then yes, that car can't get out of its own way. But the S is speedy enough with the ALL4 being a bit less than that. The fallacy of the argument is that most people comment about the lack of speed from the Countryman having spent a lot of time with the smaller, lighter Mini Cooper hardtops and the like. In our family, my wife was driving an old, body-on-frame classic Ford Explorer. Her new Countryman is the a hoot to drive compared to that beast. It's easily the closest in demeanor to the 2003 CTS with FE3 suspension and summer times that we owned years ago. And even though it's the biggest MINI, it's easily the shortest vehicle my wife and I have ever owned, including her old 1993 Ford Escort we had when we first got married.

So far, I've seen three others around town, not including one owned by a friend. They do seem to be leaving the dealership at a pretty good clip.

eek! i FINALLY saw one! drove up to MI this weekend for an outdoor dog event. walked across the small muddy parking lot and wah-lah! saw this little B&W countryman snugged in between all the bigger cars:

i never saw the driver but i did see the car drive past mine later in the day when it left. i'm pretty certain the driver passed my countryman w/o even realizing it was the same car :-D - it was accidentally in cognito!

Hey Sealy, You didn't wave back.

Then I realized your not in Texas. I thought it was your car - looked like yours - PO like yours. Had a Texas plate and no ZAFTIG so I should have known.

Anyways, I saw a PO on Lake Woodlands Drive heading east in The Woodlands, Texas.

Nice looking car Sealy.

Bill

Twice last week a silver/ black CM passed me on my way to work. Neither time did the driver even glance at me while I was waving and smiling at her like a fool.

I should have known there was something up. PO likes to run. Got in the other day and the tank was empty, there was an extra couple of thousand on the odo, and the plates were in the back seat. Lord only know where Zaftig goes when I'm asleep.

Sealy I will be down your way this weekend stopping at the in-laws (Laurel) on my way to Williamsburg and back (to drop off my daughter). Keep your eye out for my sexy white beast, and the CM too.

Only my third CM spotting in H-town

Saw a Surf Blue with white roof at the Bentwater Laser show for the 4th of July. Need rain down here in Texas - no fireworks just lasers!

Still looking for that Cosmic Blue that lives in the Woodlands.

Took this pic a while back, but I saw one in Plano, Texas. Granted, it was near the dealer, but it had a plate and there were no price stickers on it.

I parked right next to Sealy's twin on Monday at Jason's Deli and saw a true blue on the way home.

Here in The Woodlands they are selling like hot cakes, trim or no trim.

Yikes, someone needs to tell the owner having anthracite wheels is not a substitute for washing them, those wheels are filthy.

It's silver, it's New Jersey. No biggie.

(P.S. - Jason's is just down the street in the big shopping area with CVS and Nations Bank.)

Maybe they're all here in the UK?

I came to Winchester on Tuesday, and am now in London, and I think I've seen 6 or 7 different CMs passing on the street!

More than I've ever seen in the states!

We were in London over a month ago and that's the only place I've seen any Countryman in their natural habitat. There were TONS of them there.

Seems we're a little bit confused here. Countryman's natural habitat is Austria by way of Bavaria.

Sealy - Who knows that only the accent is British.

I've been meaning to post my Countrymen sightings around Oahu.

1. Saw a Royal Gray/Black top in the parking lot behind Gaku Restaurant a few weeks ago. It looked way nicer and cooler than the Lexus SUV it was parked next to.

2. Saw what I thought was an all White on Kalanianaole Highway recently. Unfortunately it had been pulled over by a cop. Whoever you are, I hope you got away with a warning! I think I saw the same all White driving past Safeway in Hawaii Kai last Saturday and it also had a cop right behind it! I Don't think it got pulled over though.
