Rear bench is supposedly coming though I would hesitate to characterize it as 3 place seating. Unless of course it is for three very small humans that do not require boosters or car seats.

I have cloth leather combo

I have cloth leather combo - see a picture in my gallery

There is very little leather and in hindsight I would probably have saved the $1000 and got leatherette (i had this on 03 MCS and it was awesome)

Its not that I dislike the cloth/leather - it looks good but already i have had my sons buddy's crudding up the seats after a muddy event and its a lot harder to clean cloth than leatherette.

Now in the summer I am sure I will be digging the cloth more

That being said I am getting it in the neck from the wife for not specifying heated seats so I would strongly consider that

WOW that is NICE.

Also, good thread link.

Got me thinking.

I'm pretty handy. Also, the need it will change over time.
For example, I could start out with two of the bucket seats,
and a car seat bolted in the middle. That is going to do
for us.......I bet 4 years. (or some other permatation?
such as two buckets, one middle, one side, and then
the car seat where it is now, on the other side).

This allows for the freakishly large car seats we have stored
in our storage now (gifts) that I guess can be used through
grade 5-6.

Which is funny, the oldest just got out of her carseat last year,
she is in the 7th grade this year. I'm all for safety mind you
but I have to wonder if lobbiests for the car seat industry
wrote all these laws. We were in a situation where that
booster seat thing was "required", due to weight. it's a height
and weight. Both, not and or. So the youngin was way way up
over the window were the side of the car offered pretty much
no protection at all (probably would have been slung out in a side
impact) and the seat belt cross belt went across her neck high up.

I recognized that "law" as really unsafe and decided I would just
have to get a ticket if pulled over. Our government at its finest.

Didn't think too much about the heaters til winter arrived and they're the best thing about the car in the winter.
Had some back pain on longer drives so bought the Lumbar back spring parts from Way Motors and now they're awesome seats.
Had people with VW's, Honda's & Toyota's say the seating and view in the Cooper is better than their cars. Case closed.

May I ask how your 2010 CM is holding up?
I am about to get my 2012 and I am SUPER excited!
I love the leatherette with heated seats, I have in my mini s hardtop.
Are the lumbar things attachments?

Here's one DIYer's report:

I love my heated leatherette seats--but be aware--THERE IS NO LUMBAR ADJUSTMENT in the leatherette option.
That being said, the seats are so comfy, I personally don't need it.

I'm so glad you posted that! I, also, have heated seats and ran out to check for the lumbar adjustment after reading this thread. To my despair, no adj. w/heated seat option but I've learned (like you) that I actually don't need it, either.
