The 7 hr ride home was great, stopped for gas once. As for the build quality and ride quality I detect a lot of BMW DNA. No wind noise, even at speed. There is a lot of buzz around this vehicle every time I stop somewhere. I hope everyone get's theirs soon, you're gonna love it!...

Countryman S
Black on Black on Black Leatherette
Sports Pkg w/ 18" Black Alloys 2GU
Premium
Mini Connected
Steptronic

p.s. it came with a cargo compt. lid or shelf, even though I didn't order it....
Congrats! Looks fantastic!

How do you like the nav?

Did the sunglasses holder come as standard? By the way, one flat load floor piece comes as standard as does the compartment cover.

When I saw you took delivery, I took the opportunity to bug my dealer about it. My car is due the last few days of the year. He said "According to our regional rep, the MINI Connected app should be out in the US late December. A date has yet to be determined. I have an email off to MINI corporate design and research for a more accurate timescale, and will notify you once I hear more. Cheers!"

The iTunes store is closed to new app submissions from the Dec 23-28 so I encouraged him to put little pressure on them. The app is available in Europe I've seen. My daughter is in France so worst case I ask her to get it for me!

Nice Countryman, nice to be 1st. Jealous of you east coasters.

Nice writeup, I do have a quick question, did you find your jack and lug wrench anywhere?

Good set of pictures, enjoy the 1200 miles of break-in, you should be about there.

Don

Congrats! Beautiful ride...I might look into one next year (after the rear bench seat is available). I think my dog would like to have his windows down.

When I got my 03', it was one of the first ones in Oregon. The guy that ordered it had waited over a year and backed out when he came in to sign the papers so I got it.

It was crazy. We couldn't go anywhere without people stopping us when we went into a store or they were gathered around the car when we came out. It was a lot of fun but also meant there was no such thing as a "quick run to the store". I never have gotten used to 10 year old girls screaming "It's so CUTE!" though.

yes, it is nice to have one of the first of something, it's cool til the next big thing. I put 800 miles on it in 3 days, and today I finally kicked down on the accelerator for the first time when I had to merge lanes, and some hater in a Camry wouldn't let me in. This car is crazy fast! Granted, I just came from an 08' Cooper, but before that, I had an 07' 328 Coupe. This feels as fast or faster. Also took a corner at high speed and was waiting for the body roll, and there was none......

and yes, to my friend from Hawaii, I am a little crazy for all Black in Fla......

I will sub title this as ALMOST picked up!
I had a call and was sent the pix of our Countryman just after unloading today at the dealership, we will get it Wednesday !!
We like the Red, changes in different lighting, Old School Mini. We plan on Bonnet Stripes and Black rims. It will be at Bill Jacobs until noonish Wednesday, they have orders to shoot anyone who get too close !
The 4 hr trip home will be great !

WooHoo! Congratulations! Can't wait for your first impressions!

Dang!! It looks really cold there!
Born in Cedar Rapids, but have been in Phoenix for a long time, no way I could deal the snow.

What kind of real-world mileage and range per tank were you seeing on the trip home? I'm looking for a replacement for my '10 M3 and I'm down to the Countryman S ALL4 or an A4 sedan.

Thanks!

Paul

Days? Why days? Seems like a few hours should be good.

It was 1 1/2 days for us, a timing thing. The PDI techs really need less than 4 hrs, figure 2-3 once they get Countryman experience, to check the systems. The VDC techs should have most everything done and corrected before it arrives at the dealer. The shop time is all charge back to MINI so they want the vehicles moved quickly but properly, any dealer trying to charge 8 plus hrs at $100...not a good thing to try.
We pick ours up about noon tomorrow, going to be fun!

The countryman did not stay too long at the VDC. It looks like you get two cup holders, eyeglass holder and I think a phone holder. I really liked that flat load floor. The piano black interior looks great. The rail lighting was cool.

I only sat in the car because the key has not been programmed yet.

I am also using a no holes license bracket holder because I do not want to drill any holes in the front for the license plate (NJ requires front and back plates).

Hope your car gets on the next boat...your MA is the only person that can tell you the status of the car.

Very exciting! Glad to hear that you are satisfied so far. I also ordered piano black so happy to hear it looks nice.

I'm still 182 as of this morning. Manon departure pushed back one day to the 9th. Still don't think I'll make it.

Who is doing the Invisishield? I'm looking to get the 3M brand (from www.Autopaintguard.com) I personally installed on my '03. It has weathered much better than my neighbor's MINI dealer installed one. Unfortunately I haven't found any companies making it for the Countryman yet.
