Exactly what I took out of his post...I guess what he meant is they are all cars here not SUV's or trucks, though an SUV can be a unibody IMO, as most are.

Generically speaking, Subaru does call some of its vehicles SUV's. As far as I'm concerned, they are on the fringe as there is nothing truck-like about them. Giving them the title of SUV is a stretch in my opinion.

Probably it is...but that way they can say that they have a more diversified range to offer to their clients...just a matter of nomenclature

I thought that this was a Countryman thread about the MINI brand? How did it become a verbal gymnastics debate about Subaru classification?

Stop splitting hairs, stay on topic.

If they offer a decently optioned S model in the 2wd in the mid 20's they've got another buyer here. Over 30k and I'm moving on. Really Really wish they'd do overseas delievery.

I'm starting to warm up to this country man model. I originally didn't like it much but now I'm thinking it may be a classic in the making.

Over the years, Mini was known for doing the unexpected. Think about the layout of the original car, the Moke, the Barn Doors, motorsports, etc. The creation of the Countryman is just another variation on the theme; nothing more...
