He's MINE (aka My First MINI)

Please say hello to Rocket J, named after the flying squirrel in Rocky and Bullwinkle. He's an MC CR/CR with the premium package and an armrest (!), and I bought him yesterday.

This is the first time in my life that I have the car I want. I saw my first new MINI in Bristol in 2002, and I have finally consummated that love with a redredred doll of a car, just in time for Valentine's Day.

And I *am* in luuuuuuuuurve. I have ordered a Rocky car decal for the back window, I plan to get "Rocket J" vanity plates (just so's there's no confusion with that other stinkin Rocky), and, well, you can see my grin in the photos.:)

Rocky came from a great place--the dealer knocked $1000 of MSRP ($300 unadvertised, so just for me), and threw in floormats. It was cold, foggy, rainy, and grey yesterday--perfect weather for buying a British flyer!

Grr, left off that he's a new 2006. *sigh* What love does to the human brain!

ScottinBend Feb 13, 2007 08:11 AM

Aint love grand !

Welcome to MINIdom.

Isn't that the greatest feeling. I know the first few days I had my car I'd wake up, look out the window, and get that same feeling I had at the dealer when I first fired her up. A little shiver and the thought "I actually own it!"

Enjoy your new pride and joy and welcome to NAM.

Congratulations on your new MINI! You guys (you and the MINI) look cute together! I hope you enjoy it in good health for many years (and miles).

POWER to the MINI's!!!

Rocket_J Feb 13, 2007 10:01 AM

Yes, now I need to figure out how to vamp up my signature so I can be like the cool NAM kids!

Where can I find images to download? So far my Mac is not coooperating . . .

Thanks for all the compliments! <blushes>

Welcome to NAM. Happy that you have the car that you really want. That will be even better the longer you motor around.
Happy Motoring.

Heyyyyy...I resemble that remark!!

Welcome to the club. Beautiful car!

J Rocket

The MINI wave is awesome. The problem is when you're driving another car (like a rental), and you come across a MINI, you can feel yourself instinctively wanting to "jump up and down" so to speak, but you have to restrain yourself because YOU'RE NOT IN YOUR MINI!!!!

Somebody help J Rocket with the Signature pictures. I cannot remember where they are. J Rocket, there's a particular thread where they are. I'm sure we can find it for you.

Happy Motoring...

Great car and a great name! Much better than Boris or Natasha!

Welcome to NAM and the MINI cult!

Rocket_J Feb 13, 2007 01:17 PM

Squirlz, OMG that is the best photo! And I guess that means you resemble my car, since I'm "conservative" in my driving, according to the dealer. Speaking of, I need to RTFM, LOL, so that I can figure out why my darling Rocky has done some of the things he's done.

I did finally get the seat right. Wow that took a while!

jq77, thanks for thinking of my signaturelessness. I actually have found that thread (I have good burrowing abilities, at least), but I have no idea how to *get* my chili red owners club image, for example.

Chili Red Owner's Club Image

Let's try this... https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...wners club.bmp

I just see a question mark after the ellipses (or dots). I'm on a Mac using Safari right now, but I'll switch to Firefox and see what happens.

Rocket_J Feb 13, 2007 06:03 PM

So. Now I have a choice of either the Chili Red Owners' Club or the current image. How on earth does one get two images in there?

There are sooooooo many things I can do on a computer, but this obviously is not one of them.

BTW, still on Safari. Really should switch to Firefox, but I'm feeling lazy. :)

Photoshop

You can get multiple images on there in Photoshop. If you don't have photoshop (or something like it), you can e-mail me the images and I'll put them together for you and e-mail them back.

Good job on getting your signature to show up! I am not that computer literate and it took me a while to figure out.

actlsze Feb 13, 2007 06:12 PM

Congrats Rocket J. I felt the same way when I got mine last Sept., and the feeling hasn't stopped. Enjoy!!!!

I had to get the magnifying glass out.

Great color choice! IMO
I wanted a MINI since they came out, but got mine used. Have fun holding back when breaking Rocky in.

dave Feb 13, 2007 06:25 PM

Very cool. Congratulations. Glad to see you have your MINI now.

Rocket_J Feb 13, 2007 06:38 PM

Thanks, everyone! Nice to know I don't have to explain to anyone how this feels!

PHOTOSHOP!! <smacks forehead> I never even thought of that! Now I get where those beautiful sig images come from. I don't have Photoshop, but I think I'll wait till I know what all I want in there so that I can do it once.
