I'm in for one MCS

Officially placed an order today, red with a black roof. No bonnet stripes though, but i'm thinking about those sports stripes. I like them better.

Congratulations on the new MINI. I waiting will be the hardest part......

goldcountrymini Dec 16, 2006 02:00 PM

Congrats on the order & welcome to the family! The hard part is waiting. Check out the 1st gear lounge for lots of info on tracking your MINI. Welcome to NAM as well...

ARTSJCW Dec 16, 2006 03:57 PM

Congratulations and welcome

Welcome to NAM and congratulations on your ordered MINI.

lava Dec 17, 2006 08:54 AM

Thanks.
Mulling over some details. I'm curious if BMW has improved its iPod interface. Previously it was limited to a set number of playlists. I wonder if the R56 unit will allow full access to the iPod's contents.

Grats and welcome to the madness :)

What can I say........Excellent choice...impeccable taste. You won't regret it (as long as you get the stripes) See my gallery for an example.

Ahh - it looks great. I know the white roof is more of a classic Monte Carlo Rally look, but the black just looks "faster" to me.

I'm compiling stripes that I like in a thread in the modifications topic. the bonnet stripes are great, and mini traditional, but I'm into these classic sports car stripes - I think I want to put them off center too.

I've got a production number now, but the source code for the "where's my baby" page still shows a blank after the vin.

KPMINI Dec 20, 2006 03:13 PM

Congrats welcome to the insanity, um I mean family.
Try to keep your mind busy the wait is painful.

lava Dec 20, 2006 06:14 PM

They really assign a vin before the car even hits the production line?

lava Dec 22, 2006 02:48 PM

recording at the 866 number says its accepted for production but no date assigned yet - won't see much progress till after the holidays I'd guess.

lava Dec 29, 2006 02:10 PM

like everybody else waiting, absolutely nothing happened this entire week!

Foxtrot_Xray Dec 29, 2006 02:22 PM

I remember when I had mine ordered, I think I spent most of my work-days watching the darn site, waiting for some status update. Moxie arrived while I was in Floriday, visiting relatives. I drove back up there just to get the MINI, then called in sick from work the rest of the week to drive. :) My boss at the time had ordered hers a couple weeks before mine, and hers was delivered a week after mine, so she knew why I was out...

kayaktom Dec 29, 2006 04:27 PM

Congratulations on your new MINI....I'm still debating over clor choices...Thanks for your insights.

Congrats! I just took delivery of my Chili Red/Black MCS - it's a great combination, I think. =)

dimini Dec 29, 2006 04:35 PM

Congrats, Lava!

Red is a great color with a million options. Actually, I think the wait is good, as you will notice your enthusiasm skyrockets while reading posts on NAM. Time passes pretty quick (unless you're a student, and then it's totally in slow motion). You don't want your MCS too soon, otherwize you'll hit the streets on the day of delivery (during a snow storm) and have to drive thru a salt-laiden turnpike to get home.

I couldn't wait...I bought one off the lot. But it was totally loaded and in excellent condition. It drives like a brand new car!! Hope you get your new baby soon! Post pics!!

lava Dec 31, 2006 06:33 AM

Will do - there are actually mockups of my colors with the stripes I hope to add in my Gallery, so you can check those out, and compare when the real thing arrives.

Oh and by the way dix, your gallery appeared to be empty today....!

Congrats on your purchase - I know I would have bought off the lot if they had what I wanted.
