Oil Temperature, what's normal? What isn
I have the aux. guages installed near the cup holders. Very cool looking, and very early 1960s retro look to them... Question: What is normal for oil temperature? Guage is hash marked at 50, 100, 120, and 150 degrees centigrate. Seems to hoover around 110 centigrate during normal operation, which would be about 225 degrees F. Pretty sure that's normal. At what temperature does it become abnormally high??

Gauges are intended to be viewed in a single glance. Nobody is really supposed to read the numbers on an Analog Gauge. That is why when the needle is pointing straight up (or roughly so). All is OK. Obviously, if its 15 degrees or more off center, then look more closely at it. |
I rarely see over 100C while running Mobil 1, factory oil runs a good 15C hotter.
