Dashboard Button

Hi everyone.....motoring along in the new MINI and I must say its awesome (and I'm wondering why it took us so long to wake up)...anyway, there is a button just behind the front defroster vents, dead centre, what is that button for? I don't want to push it without knowing what it is

It's not a button, it is the solar sensor for the automatic climate control.

But tell your friends it is for the Photon Torpedos!

Interesting, I don't have auto climate control, I wonder if it acts as a sensor for the auto headlamps too (which I have)

If you have auto climate control, you will see a red colored piece in the area you describe.

If you don't, you will have a blank, circular piece of plastic to fill in the area.

Someone should tap into that for Ezpass

It's either for smoke screen or oil slick depending on which option package you ordered =D

I would hate to ride inside of a transformer... I imagine it transforming and mashing me inside with all of the gears and such haha:razz:

You are absolutely right. It is in fact a piece of plastic to fill in the area for the option I don't have. I'll maybe charge people 5.00 to try to press it telling them it could bring them good luck. Thanks everyone for your responses

Ok, uh, I have auto climate control and I DON'T have a red piece there... it is a little black ball... I only just noticed this after reading this post! Arn't I supposed to have a little circular red thing!?!?!? I only picked up my car a week ago, so still noticing things... Is this normal or did they forget it or something?!
