Did they not give you a production sheet??? I don't pay any of attention to the owners lounge... more often it's wrong. You need to get a copy of the production sheet so you can double check your order prior to it going into production.

I bailed on Assael MINI, and am going to Crevier today at lunch to order another one. Thanks for all your input.

Why not try to get some compensation from Assael instead of "bailing". Mistakes unfortuantely happen... and if they are willing to do what it takes to make you happy, why not let them?

I agree with Christina - while I understand your frustration completely, I'd probably keep the order with them and keep guilting them and milk them for everything they're willing to give me for the inconvenience.

The plan B you both have offered makes sense, but I feel uncomfortable with the relationship at this point under any circumstances. I'd rather give my business to another salesman at another dealership. I've called Crevier and have an appointment at one with a guy I've met before and really like. Who knows, I may even reconsider my initial order now that I'm over the initial shock that I just lost 3 weeks of waiting time. Thanks again for your input.

If you go to another dealer, you can start the waiting clock all over again. The main thing is getting your Mini.

I can certainly understand your feelings. After multiple bad service experiences with Assael, I now drive 40 miles for service. Assael is 5 min away. I was just... DONE.

You're not just looking for the sales experience, but how you're treated post-sales. If you don't feel comfortable with the dealer NOW, it's not likely that will change after you've bought the car.

Good luck at Crevier!

It's a done deal. MCSa, Hyperblue with a black top, 16", xenons, sunroof, etc, cloth seats, anthracite, chromline interior. 8 weeks.

Very nice spec!

Sometimes you just don't feel comfortable giving your $ to certain companies... rewarding them for mistakes, so to say.

Whoever you ordered from, you are gonna love the MINI!

If you're look at the OL. You can right click (windows) and view source. Bewtween the EMBED tags you'll find the details of your MINI. You'll findthe vin and a few other neat tricks. You can do a quick search on tracking your MINI and find out lots of cool tips.

Were any of the delays by those here because of this?

http://motoringfile.com/2006/09/20/06-cabrio-delays/

Seems there is an issue with some of the '06 convertables being given '07 VIN numbers.

I'm waiting for a call from my salesman today, but in the meantime I've kinda lost the thrill of it all. What do I do if the dealer says everything's OK, and a month from now it's not? Then it will be too late to order an '06 with CVT.
The website erroneously had mine headed to Chicago instead of KC. Arrived as it was supposed to KC. Click on contact icon in website and report your problem, perhaps nothing wrong except the misinformation on the website.

I actually reordered... not because of a dealer screw up, but change of mind in color and MCS vs. MC.... (my reorder is pretty similar to yours). All I can say is... I already feel happier. I wish I could be out motoring now, but I know if I can just get through the next 5 weeks or so, I will be loving the car I finally decided on.

Glad you figured things out and got what you wanted. Hang in there... 8 weeks will pass before you realize it.

Great specs, Rontonio! Be sure to have Crevier print out a copy of your order sheet for you or have them email it to you. In a few days, check online to see if everything is as you ordered. As suggested above, call 1-866-ASK-MINI for the most up-to-date information. Once you are motoring, you will forget the Assael experience. Best wishes!

Thanks for your support. My life goes by so fast anyway, that fortunately or unfortunately, two months will be here before I know it.

I got my production number just 20 minutes ago. I went to the owners lounge and checked it out. The car information was incorrect, but because I received all the great responses from you all, I know what to expect this time, and I'm not worried. I'm sure it will be correct soon enough. Thanks again.

Just don't forget that the Owner's Lounge is really the last place to be checking on your Mini. Until it goes to the docks at Southampton, call 866-ASK-MINI.
