No way! Pics come first! Who's been there through the long wait? PW38! Who kept you going when you thought you just couldn't wait another minute?! PW38! We want the pics! We want the pics!

Okay, I'm just excited

So... I just talked to the guys at LB MINI and they said 7-10 days. Boo! I rented a car this morning... they tried to give me a F150! That's all they had left! No way could/would I drive that big thing to school. I can't even imagine having to park it at school..

So... I finally thought of a name for my MINI!! Its.... ALICE!!

1) alice... cooper... get it? I don't really like his music, but he's funny and I liked him in waynes world

2) I've always loved alice in wonderland since I was very little...

So I was thinking of adding some little touches when alice gets here to make her more alice-y... like the whole checkers/cards, etc. from alice in wonderland... any ideas?

[quote=mini_dreams;1182034]sorry to hear about this namvet66... that's really frustrating. I hope that things get figured out soon. did your OL ever give you an "estimated delivery date"? (It's under the "Review Order" section). Probably doesn't help much, but I'm sure it will all be worth it when it gets there.[/quot

Yes OL gave me a delivery date of 10/10 than it changed to 10/13, now who knows. Yes it will still be worth the wait.

You need to buy Tom Waits' CD called Alice for the stereo. It'll give you a whole different perspective on the story.

By the way, I forgot to say the H/K stereo is AMAZING! I cannot believe this is from the factory! I used to have a "system" in my truck and i would say this is very close! The subs in the back sound great, i cranked Bon Jovi and I thought I was at the concert! Anyone trying to decide, it was worth every penny!

I concur! Rich deep bass and clear highs. Heads above the stock unit in my old MINI

El Jefe, it is great to hear that you are having fun. I am so excited to take delivery hpoefully next week.... The one i test drove seemed solid, it just seems that this will be a car that you don't get tierd of or think of as just transportation...

I think you'll have plenty to listen to even if you didn't have any radio

"Fergie" is @ Dealer!

I have been quietly biting my tongue and waiting for the Pegasus Leader to deliver my "Fergie" and "Benson" closer to us here in Sacramento and just got THE phone call ... Fergie is in! Still no word on Benson (the Cabrio) and we figure that he is just held up in VDC. He did have difficulties with the VIN number issue early on and this may be where it is all resolved / delayed. Will be picking up Fergie tomorrow evening to allow for installation of a few extras.

Yay! We're all getting closer...

A few updates today:

1) Got the 'official' mini meld email with radio station options, etc.

2) 866ASKMINI changed from 'your vehicle is en route' to 'your mini is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel'. Kinda confusing, but any change is welcomed now, right??

3) OL still says 'en route'

Update to the "Manifest Mombo"......it better than crying!

I spoke with my MA again today, (I was composed after taking overnight to settle down), he tells me that they feel certain that Goliath is at the Port of Charleston, and should be here in a one and a half weeks (I'll call it a week to 10 days).

Hopefully Goliath will be here toward the end of next week and all will be well.

Those of you in week 38 that have gotten your cars, enjoy them, but remeber the new kid on the block will be here soon.

It would take me more than overnight to settle down:impatient I don't think I stopped squirming for the last 5 days before i got the car, I was that impatient.

Take some comfort knowning that you are getting a very unique car, and one of the last ( and best ) of its breed. And try to remember, anticipation is a big part of the fun

I opted against the H/K stereo. I've done a lot of work as an audio engineer and mixed at live music festivals, etc. Music is and always has been a big part of my life. But when I drive the Mini, more often than not I find myself turning the stereo DOWN! Just so I can hear the music coming from the engine and exhaust. It's that great! If you're like me you won't miss the H/K.

Pictures FINALLY

OK, I know I took forever to post these...But, here are the pictures!

At the dealer picking Gus up!!!!

Spedo. (I like how it shows off the stainless steel looking dash. I cannot remember what that is called right now) 11 Miles when we picked Gus up!

Here is our first road trip in Gus. It was an awesome little Inn in Lake Geniva WI.

I'll try to take some more pictures this weekend after we detail him and get him ready for winter. I'll also snap some shots of the int.

yeah... aiiee and WyNG, I think I'll be okay without the HK. I'm sure I'll be listening to the supercharger and I'm hoping to have the sunroof open lots and the wind blowing!
