That last one is a counterfeit MINI! The car looks awsome! I like that your in Manhatten and it is such a different pick up environment than most of us here. The picture of the top of the car really captures the city life with the car on the curb. Congrats!

When I pick up mine I will try and get some desert scenery in the background...

billwil,

Talked with my MA today and he says that the boat got pushed back to 8/17 on his report. However, the shipping report on http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto when I enter my VIN shows the following...

So... not sure what to think

Well, as you can see from the attachment, it says the exact same thing for mine (down to the discharged time, 5:21 in the evening).

I made two calls to my MA today, and while he was in, I never got a return call. Who is your MA, by the way?

The discrepency may be due to the fact that while WW did discharge the minis at the dock, the VDC may not be able to move them to the VDC yet, so they remain in "en route" status sitting at the port. Maybe the 8/17 date means that the VDC anticipates being able to move them in tomorrow, and start getting them prepped for overland shipping. By the way...anyone ever wonder why when we put something on a boat, we call it cargo, and when we move something on a truck over land, we call it shipping? Seems backwards...

Anyway, I hope this is the case for our cars...that they get moved from the dock and into the VDC tomorrow. I think a Monday delivery is looking more and more far-fetched.

Stomp...are you having anything done at MNS, or are they going to deliver it pretty much like it comes from the VDC?

Here's wishing us luck!

Well let's hope it changes soon. I am only going with the Rubber S mats front and back at pickup and possibly the iPod connector that I will install. I am going aftermarket for tint and clear bra installation... dealer was a bit expensive I thought. What are you getting?

I'm getting basically the same thing...except I don't like iPods...so I'm getting just the $40 aux input jack. I'm also getting mats, but they recommended the carpeted black mats instead of the rubber mats that I mentioned...so I guess I'll decide when I get there. I realized today that I don't even know how much this thing is going to cost me yet so I asked my MA to get back to me with an actual number (all I know is what the MSRP sale price is)...I guess I should know how much to have in the ole' account, eh?

Confession: Good for the Soul

Well, here's the scoop on my missing MINI. My MA, Bless his heart, tracked Red down and found out why he's been awol. On 8/8/06, it was reported that Red had been released from the VPC to transport with an ETA of 8/14/06. Of course, I was panting all that week and as the days stretched on, frustration grew. My MA was understandably baffled because he couldn't get any answers. For all we knew, the trucking Co. had him but we knew not where. MA stayed after it and finally, the Ones Above explained (confessed) that they had found and I quote," a light scratch, less than 1 inch, on the left rear quarter panel which we held at the VPC to repair to BMW/MINI standards". So, I guess I have no one to blame (except the careless scratchor) (Red being the scratchee) and in fact should applaud the process for catching and fixing the problem.
Red was released from the hospital yesterday and is on his way to Milwaukee, good as new . (I hope) The new ETA is 8/21 which is Monday(MA's day off of course). Obviously, I,m hoping that they put Red, by himself on a truck travelling non-stop to MKE so he can arrive tomorrow! Yeah, right. Well, they should! Aaaaanyway, he's on the way.
I know I'll forget all aabout this as soon as I plop my butt but (hey, a double but , I tickle myself ) right now this is slooowww torture. Stay tuned! I JUST WANT TO GET THE "ALMOST" OUT OF MY SIG)

That's too bad, but I'm glad it's all working out. What I'm dissapointed with is that it was so difficult to find out what was going on. I know that the VDC does not have to tell the dealer if the damage is less than a certain percentage of value (which I think is sort of lame), but to not even tell them WHERE the car is is really lame. Oh well...all's well that end well...and hopefully you'll be all smiles soon. I am still holding out hope that StompRocket and I will only be a day or two behind you!

Yeahhh!! At least you FINALLY have some answers and a definitive date as to when this little guy is going to arrive home! I think you MA should come in for a couple hours on his day off so you can pick up Red...they get a commision right??

Glad to hear you got some news, albeit a scratch. I wonder if there were GTI's on the boat or something... you know they have it out for the MINI!

Still waiting on mine......... Aug 5th was the day, now it's Aug 25th.... Instead of fixing the small part they are getting a whole new soft top shipped from Germany to install which will take YET ANOTHER 7-10 days........ I made my anger known and they totally understood. So they threw in a free set of run flat all season tires for the 'inconveinance'.... I just want my MINI, that's all, Is that so wrong?

Thanks!! I'm pretty happy with how the stripe/interior combo came out as well as I was hoping it would...I literally spend HOURS pouring over the mini book to figure out exactly what I wanted to order... but I do not regret a single choice! And Basil rides ggggrrreeeaaaatttt! He's sooo much fun and handles so nice...taking curves and on ramps is such a joy now!

I can't believe you date got pushed back all the way to the 25th! Good lord!! You must be beyond frustrated by this point. I feel for you and MiniMaxx!! What a streak of bad luck has fallen upon our thread! Usually you hear of a random 1 that gets a little sidetracked, but we've got 2 that have had some pretty hefty delays! Hopefully all you guys on the west coast won't have any problems! Speaking of which, don't forget to post those pics when you get your mini's!

You guys are in for soooooo much fun.

Broke the 300 mile mark, still haven't had to get gas boy is that nice

Life's boring and then you get THE CALL!

HE'S HERE, HE'S HERE, HE'S HERE!!!!!!! HOT DAMN, HE'S HERE! except I can't pick him up until Monday after work. At least I saw him, I touched him and I GOT PICTURES! : ...errrr....my pictures are too big, I don't know why...its a MINI. Anyway, I'm too excited to try to resize them now but they're in my gallery.
My MA, Kyle Larsen, of International MINI in Milwaukee is AWESOME! I knew his day off is Monday so after he called, I figured I couldn't pick Red up until Tuesday. There are no techs there today. Tuesday is a bad day for me because I have to work late so when I told him that, he said he would come in Monday just to deliver my MINI! Thanks man. That is so great!
Well my MINI saga is almost over. I've enjoyed most of the order, track and anticipate process but I'll tell you, it got a little hairy during Missing MINI week. I doubt I'll ever factory order a car again; too nuts! I had to do it this time though. Time was running out on 06's. I didn't want an 07 and given the time left, it was near impossible to find a JCW on anyone's lot and I HAD to have a JCW. Suddenly, Monday seems soooo farrrrr awayyyyyy.:impatient
See ya!

Yeahhh!!! Finally! Boy is it going to be a long day at work for you on Monday, ugh! But no worries you will soon be behind the wheel of Red. And he sure is a beauty let me tell ya! I love the chrome mirror covers, you've got me considering them now I'm so jealous you got the John Cooper Works, that is the crem de la crem!

I just finished a good wash, and wax on Basil, so he is super clean and shiney. I'm gonna take some pics to day because I haven't snapped any shots with the tinted windows yet. Basil is the first car I've ever tinted the windows on and boy does it looks sleek! By the way MiniMaxx good call on tinting the sunroof with a 35%, it really does help keep the car much cooler!

Well...I got an update today. It looks like my MCSC sat at the dock for a week. WW delivered it last Monday...and it looks like it got admitted to the VDC today (still not showing this in the OL), scheduled for a Thursday ship out...which means to the dealer likely on Friday. Unfortunately, I leave to go out of town on business on Sunday and not returning until Friday the 1st...so if they don't do a quick turnaround at the dealer, it takes us into next month (dealer doesn't want that, of course). Hopefully they can get it done quickly and delivered Saturday. Downside is that I'll finally get it and then I'll have to leave it at home with my wife...who is really rubbing it in that she'll be driving it and I won't. She keeps doing a little victory dance.

Of course, I'm only going to Denver...maybe I should cancel my airline tickets and drive so I can get the breakin period taken care of.

Anyway...thanks for letting me take care of my daily waiting therapy.

He's Home!

Whewww!!! Young Red is home, safely in the garage! (not really cry, that is) . One word sums the ride(s) home, SMOOOTH. The power, lots of it, up to 4500 rpm's is just smooth. The ride, wow, its so much smoother than my 05. I don't know if its because of changes between 05 and 06 or shock wear in the 05 (I doubt it) or if its my old rf dunlops which have gotten real loud after 30,000 miles or what but the ride is soo cushy but its still an MCS in the corners. Well gotta go. The dog is neglected and whining kinda like the new supercharger which is another post.

I hope you get you car before you go to Denver so you can at least drive it before handing it over to the wife! I bet they will FedEx out here if needed for you to take it by the end of the month. I work out in north Scottsdale, so I will make some drive by's this week and let you know if I see any CR/B convertables on the back lot.

Thanks, Stomp. I appreciate the eyes and ears up there. I make it up to north scottsdale a couple of times a week (I have some customers up there), but any sightings from you...let me know!

They actually have a new CR/B MCSC in their inventory, with the same black leather, etc., as my car (they must have just got it in because it wasn't there last week). They have it in the showroom. The only difference is mine has LSD, and the one the have has the Chrono Package (which I don't want...I like the huge speedo in the middle...distinctively Mini) and no LSD. Same exact price, too. I thought for a second that they had my car and hadn't told me!

Bill~
