Euro Shelf doesn't fit in Convertible? :-(

I'm being told that the Euro Shelf that fits above the driver's knees does not fit in the '06 Convertible (or any convertible). Can anyone refute this and tell me that it works for them? I was really hoping to find that this would give me those few extra inches of someplace to put stuff.

In that part of the MINI interior, there is no difference between the hardtop and convertible. I installed the shelf on my 2006 convertible, and it went in with no problems.

Thanks guys for the affirmation. I thought it should be the same dimensionally and all but 2 different MINI dealer parts departments said that it was not listed for the convertible but was for the coupe. I'll trust that we know more than they do.

This list is awesome.

It CAN fit in a 06 Convertible. It fit in my Dec built 06 Cabrio.

Did it go in easily. NOOOOOOOO. But it did finally go in.

Search under my username, I posted some "hints and tips" for making it install easier.

There seems to be some variation in tolerances between individual cars, and the shelf fits more easily on some than on others. This is simple car-to-car variation that happens with both hardtop and convertible. I have a Sept 05 build (2006 model) convertible and was lucky that it fit fairly easily on mine.

I have the shelf in my 06 MCS. It mostly fit right out the box. I found that I had to trim a small amount of plastic ribbing from the top of the shelf: seems it interfered with a welded brace inside the dash. I could see where there might be enough of a variation in the weld point to cause poor fit in some cars.

Well I'll buy your Euro shelf if it doesn't fit. This is one piece that I just can't seem to buy used, and when it is being sold used, the sellers are flakey.

I just placed an order for a Cabrio... will the Euro shelf fit? It's an 06?
