Newbie..Just bought an 02's

I was shopping around for a 03 G35 at my local Infinit Dealer, i sat in a few and it was just not a good feel, mind you i am 6'4". Long story short they had a cooper S with a full Orciari body kit including the hatch valance, and i fell in love and bought it. Since then i hear a clunky sound going from first to second, my glove box wont stay closed my passenger seat wont recline and my power steering just died....is this a preview of things to come?

Wow:eek2: You are having issues from the get go. I bet some things are just minor and need tweaking. Power steering dieing isn't normal. But the power steering fan going is.

Wow, if you bought it from the dealer I hope you got some kind of used car warranty with it. Sounds like it may have been a badly maintained MINI, from everything i have read, the 02s had some stumbles along the way, but after the fixes they are still motoring strong.

First, Welcome to NAM  Sounds like a nice MCS, what color did you get?

Glove box issue is an easy fix/adjustment and the previous owner should have done it. Power steering fan is known to pick up plastic baggies and such and go bad, however, get a power steering fan shield and that will fix that.

As stated the dealer you bought if from should fix these things.

Hey guys thanks for the fast reply and comments, Firstly i must say the car with that kit is just a night and day comparison with the stock cooper s setup. I bought it from an Infinit dealer and i did get a pre-owned deal which is 3 year 36k bumper to bumper, when i went back to the dealer he told me to take to a regular BMW dealer since it should still be covered, i contacted my local mini dealer after running the vin he told me i was covered up till Dec 06. I also hear a clunking sound when i go from 1st to 2nd. I also have a ford...i refuse to have two cars i have to fix everyday.

Oh its light blue with the white roof.

Heh what can i say i am glutten for punishment, the Ford is 91 supercharged notched, Honestly i just might get rid of it, after the warranty on the mini is up...i kind like that twin charged setup Helix got.

Take the MINI by the MINI dealer and let them fix it up and you will be one happy motorer. Make sure they do a full check-up on it.

welcome on-board, one of the best things that come with your Mini, it will keep you busy all the time, good or bad, always busy....

those problems are minor, easy fix. Keep in mind, 02s are the first ones came to the country, they have adaptation problems:lol:
