Royal Gray's Unite

Who else here has Royalty on order?

mtbscott Oct 8, 2005 04:42 PM

My upcoming MCS is going to be Royal Grey/Royal Grey, no stripes. I envision the stealth MINI, also will have some anthracite colored aftermarket wheels with non-runflats waiting for it when it arrives. It was kind of hard buying a new color sight unseen, but I like dark colors including Dark Silver, but that is probably the most common color for MINIs in my area.

I've seen a few pictures of the royal grey and I think it looks amazing. You guys have made a really, really good decision:thumbsup:

jlapenna Oct 8, 2005 06:49 PM

I'm in the club! I got mine with a silver roof, and as much chrome as I could tack on.

DrDiff Oct 8, 2005 06:50 PM

That is why MrsDiff said, "No red, No blue, NO gray of any shade." There are far too many of those colors here in the Indy area. Thus Astro Black

Too bad I could have had Greatful Dead on the drive home CD!

I have a MCS Royal Grey, Silver Roof and Silver Stripe on order. Talked to my MA on Saturday. She said I should expect it around December.

"....Even the SA at Downtown MINI in Orlando says with it moving this fast I should just wait for the color I really want (PEPPER WHITE). He has a basic Royal GREY S in over the weekend, and he didn't really push it at all. It kind of is just brown to me, but I am sure others will like it just fine. His name is Larry Taylor, call him in Orlando if you want a Royal Grey S basic or loaded, they have two, the loaded is supposed to be a demo, but there aren't any miles on it at the moment. Just prepping it today... "

Saw a Royal Grey w/English Leather in the showroom this past weekend. It looks MUCH better in person than in the pics. If you're thinking about a gray/silver at all, u need to see one of these first.

Cheers

I may be joining as well. I have been on the fence with PS and DS for a while. However, I just saw two RG/RGs this weekend, a MC and MCS. Both with dark rims...what a great combo.

Pics in my gallery....

Vanity Plates

One of the themes for my eventual vanity plates is around the color. Here are some I've considered...

GREYMCS (Pretty boring except for the British spelling)
MIG (Blatant copy of Mini-In-Black, but obviously Grey)

My favorite so far is:

NOT B&W as in "The issue is not black and white but grey".

What other "grey" themes have people considered for their Royal Grey minis?

Just ordered my Royal Grey/Silver roof on Sunday. Agonizing over the chrome line interior, and if i want to do it with the Park Lane Dash. Now, I just started thinking about the English Leather seats instead of the black panther leather. God, I need my production number before I tack on like an extra grand of accessories.

I received Joshua about two and half weeks ago and hitting breakin miles this week. Love the RG/RG but I went with Chrome mirrors. I'm still looking at graphics for the a-panel now probably UK but my wife like the idea of a UK bonnet stripes and boot stripe. I've got a couple pics on my gallery of Joshua.

Took delivery of my Evie in early August. Absolutely love the Royal Grey, and am very happy I made the leap of faith.

I guess we are also part of the club. Our 2006 MCS Royal Grey/Silver with Silver Bonnet Stripe is in its final day of production today.

Hurray

Next week he's getting a sweet stripe on his boot to match the one on his bonnet, thanks to Mike at Aesthetic Creations!

krenzkes Aug 23, 2006 12:20 PM

Basil and Evie both look great. The silver roofs and stripes are sharp.
Congrats. I'm receiving compliment on Joshua even to the point of saying he looks better then Gunner, my red MINI did.

RG is a very neat color and more along the lines of what you would expect from BMW, not to say that any of the MINI colors don't to me having a MINI regardless of color is enough.

welshmenwillnotyield Aug 23, 2006 01:57 PM

Picked up my RG/RG MCSa with a Park Lane interior and antracite Memorial Day weekend and have been tracking it since I got out of the breakin period. I don't have a camera or I'd show it off, too. It has a firey orange A/C solid dragon on the sunroof as well as the checkmate stripe on the bonnet in blood red...only just a 3/8" pinstripe around the perimeter. I've added a 15% pulley, Alta CAI and boxtop, silicone hose, Densos, an ALTA Direct Air Diverter, M7 STRPs, and ALTA rear swaybar, H-Sport springs and a Milltek to make it "go faster/ride better". It has just over 3k and is getting ready for Mid-Ohio this weekend. :)

krenzkes Aug 24, 2006 06:40 AM

welshmenwillnotyield, you need to find someone that can take a picutre of you MINI so you can post it. The colors and type of graphics you describe sound too cool. I'm kicking around some ideas about graphics but the bright colors with RG must look fantastic.

welshmenwillnotyield Aug 24, 2006 07:32 AM

I love the orange dragon-in-flight sunroof decal, but am rather disappointed with the bonnet U-striping, as the red is too dark and doesn't show up as well on the Royal Grey as I had hoped it would.. I'm considering replacing it with flame orange, instead...kind of an expensive goof-up, but probably worth it down the line.

Speedee Aug 24, 2006 08:06 AM

Ordered "Speedee" last February,(MCSa) considered BRG and almost went that way, spouse wanted Royal Grey, so that's what we ordered... Sooo glad we did! All Royal Grey, no accent colors, cordoba leather interior.... Webspoke 17" wheels will soon sport Royal Grey center sections, thinking of black stripes.... The look is awsome!!!

krenzkes Aug 24, 2006 09:39 AM

Bright orange would look great with RG, I bet the colors look great together. My daughter is suggesting a green dragon for the sunroof and I'm looking at a A Panel UK as possiblities. There is just a lot that you can do with such a rich color that we have in RG.
