Ordered Wife's MINI Cooper S!

1 Attachment(s)
After almost a year of "getting around to it" we finally placed our order for an 05 Chili Red (with blacK) 05 MCSa. Decided to go with the 05 due to the price increases for a lot of the options that we wanted (auto, convenience, red dash, etc)

Got the convenience and cold weather packs, fogs, DSC, Xenons & the Harmon Kardon stereo. Would have gone with the sport pack, didn't want the boat anchor S-Lite wheels. Ordered with stock 16"s & will replace with these ASA JH6 panasport knock offs:

Looking at a 4-6 week wait.

Ordered from Joe McCormick at Otto's MINI, he has helped out two others here on the forum that I know of. Local racer, I can't say enough about how helpful he was.

Anyone want to buy a nice 98 VW Cabrio?

(no, really: http://www.homenetinc.com/employees...rio/cabrio.html)

Now i just need to figure out how to get myself one as well!!! (anyone want to buy a turbo miata? )

Yeah, I bought my wife a MCS too. Problem was, she never let me drive it. Hence, six months later I bought myself one. Now we're a very happy two Mini family.

Final Date To Order an 05

Does anyone know when the final Date/ Month to order a MCS 05??
Im thinking of doing my ordering in Sept..Will the 06's only be available?
Or would i have the option of both?
Does anyone roughly know the difference in price from the 05mcs to the 06MCS??
A couple thousand I believe..but does anyone know the actual amount off the top of their head....For the base that is..before all the upgrades!!

I *think* that the final factory new order date was the 25th (4 days ago)

Can someone confirm that??

Just got back from the Dealer and they advised that TODAY 07-30(Tommorrow if yours is open) is the final '05 new order date, after that it's '06 orders or take what's available on the lot (or buy somebody's used Like MINE)

'06 Production starts in September, so if you order then, it will definitely be an '06.

The price increase isn't much, except for a few of the options. Here's the article on motoring file with all the details:

Sweet! According to Tirerack, you can use the OEM hub cap on that particular ASA rim.

Thanks for the Replies everyone!
Now another question...is there a dramatic difference between the 05mcs and the 06mcs...If not, then i might just get an 05 off the lot..but if the difference is dramatic, i might put an order in for the 06...Any comments on that?
Thanks

If you want JCW, go with an '06 because you can get it factory installed and save a couple bones. If not, the '05 is cheaper for the same engine / features. The main difference between the years is paint colors, factory-installed JCW, new wheels, new stock stripes design, and a couple price increases.
